When guarding a planet, the player should not be able perform any missions or battle any ships without exiting the guarding mode. The ship is guarding the planet, it can't be running around the galaxy attacking things or looking for stuff. It is guarding something. If the player attempts to perform a mission or battle, the game will prompt them that they will no longer be guarding the planet.

ive never seen a problem with this function. why change what isnt broken? if you really need someone off a planet, use an unstable wormhole emitter.

It is not about getting rid of ships. It is about the idea that if you are guarding something, that is the what you are doing. If you go to a bank, the bank guard is not guarding the bank, if he if off buying a cup of coffee.

It is broken. A person cannot be in two places at the same time. If someone is guarding something, that is what they are doing. If they are on a mission, they cannot guard something.

Just give up... this idea is one of the most horrible Ive seen in my time. While guarding a planet your there at the planet that give you production meaning you should get it faster. Also you can teleport it to your ship.

The mechanic works fine. Let's not start delving too far into realism otherwise the gameplay becomes a pain. You want more realism? How about we get rid of all missions that include getting near a blackhole, too.

Deal with it its how the game works and it works very well no one has ever complained about it, because its not broken. Not EVERYTHING in here is supposed to be realistic. Stop limiting the game.
Also no they can teleport it so they dont have to bring it with them

like i get what he's saying but at the same time its not a good idea, i mean yea, at one level, they couldnt be around the planet and in another system at the same time. but with the exception of some of the weekly missions, most of them have you stay in what you coult assume as a single system. so really you'd still be able to attack other ships that are "in the star system" and some of the missions would still work as well, for example im working on the Rebel Base one, and i could easily and while staying in the same system as the guarded planet, go blockade the rebel planet and haul butt back to the guarded planet if need be.
