Why is it that if CTP has gone up in its exchange rate, is ANYONE buying any artifacts at the OLD prices... shouldnt things like storage towers and fluxs go down in price... why buy a flux for 1K ctp, when you could sell the CTP, give them 15K kur, AND make a huge profit for yourself... same with storages.. Was just wondering this whilst i was at work last night.. anyone else thinking along these lines?

CTP went up in price because there was a sharp increase in the demand for it. Higher demand generally leads to higher prices. As far as why storage towers and flux's went up in price, well, I'm going to assume the reason is the same.

I have no idea how there are still sales threads on the forums where people buy overpriced artis for ctp.

Supply and demand are two different things. The supply might be the same(people willing to pay GP for them), but demand has risen.(People willing to pay CTP for them)

If the value goes up, then surely the price should come down... Makes sense, doesn't it?

1 Flux = 1K CTP.

If the CTP value doubles...

Flux = 500CTP...

while the demand for ctp has apparently gone up due to the ability to purchase it for credits, the supply has gone up as well for those players who had a stockpile of ctp that do not frequent the forums or trading groups.

1 Flux = 1K CTP.

If the CTP value doubles...

Flux = 500CTP...

Unless the demand for fluxes and other GP items goes up as well, in which case their value would also increase (conceivably, I guess) in parallel with the increased value of ctp.

Another explanation could be that a lot of people just haven't quite glommed on to the current inflated value of ctp and are simply accustomed to paying the old costs. The prices may still end up being 'adjusted' eventually... assuming the change actually proves to be permanent and not just a 'glitch' caused by a drastic but possibly temporary spike in demand for ctp.
