I hate to agree but yes, bases tend to devalue the moment they are off the lot.
Getting more out of a base than you put in by selling the whole thing, highly unlikely.
Getting more out of a base by running it well, most definitely.

L7 base for sale. Following has been invested: Energy: 12.5 million (250k-500k CTP worth depending on energy:CTP value) EM: 4 million (16k CTP worth @ 250:1 seems reasonable) CTP: 200k GP items installed: (85k CTP worth) 2 Base Comm Interlinks @ 5k CTP 7 special space extenders @ 5k CTP (total 42) 16 tactical space extenders @ 2.5k CTP (total 86) Lab has several discoveries nothing noteworthy but a chance to roll one of the new ones more easily than at the end, or finish the discovery badge quicker. Minimum bid 600k CTP + 15 million EM (I need more to reach L8 on next base project). Additional EM offered in bids will be considered as 250:1 CTP. * Method of safe transfer is needed for both parties, I have done upgrades for CTP but never sold a base outright. This is too large of a transaction to mess around with. Also I believe the method is typically to promote buyer to leader then leave. Auction will run for awhile while I setup/move some folks to a research legion (base upgrade cooldown timers sigh). |

Why would you be making bases as projects...you end up having to sell for way less then you put in I bought a level 5 almost to 6 for 15k now I can get to level 7 for just over 180k Ctp instead of bidding at 600k |

I'm broke right now actually... *coughs* EDIT: The most I've ever had on hand was around 189k CTP. It's not that difficult to get that much it just takes patience and I tend to spend it a little faster than I make it. |
