Anyone who has done 200k+ dmg to a base will agree with me, when I say that there needs to be a new reward system added.
Right now, a person who does 20k dmg can get the same reward as someone who does 200k. So, there is no incentive for anyone to put the time and resources to try and be top damager.
So, my idea is to give an extra reward for doing 100k dmg. Another reward for doing 200k, and so on.
This is also good for Dan in that people will have more incentive to spend real money to buy energy.

Have you done 200k+ dmg? It's tedious. I get 46k+ research an hour. So, basically 1 to 2 hours of clicking a button to get 14 mins worth of research. I'll pass. Early on, the novelty of killing a base got me to doing massive dmg to bases. Now, I just pass on any base that takes time and effort since it's not worth it. I'm sure a lot of other high ranks feel the same.

no but i've done over 60k, which for me at the time was quite a bit of work
maybe you should push for Dan to change the data terminal to give a reward that scales not only in relation to the damage you've done but also in relation to your research per hour or... something
instead of just saying you want an extra reward for doing the most damage.... SUGGEST some IDEAS Keep in mind YOU are at the end of the game.... what would YOU want? there's not very many other people in your shoes right now

It's about giving an incentive to everyone to do more dmg to bases by hitting certain marks (Doesn't have to be 100k for the first one, could be 5k). Which in turn makes it more interesting having a goal. The reward doesn't matter. What matters is making something that's become tedious into something more entertaining. But, if I were to suggest a reward. Make the first reward random like 1 credit or up to 1 billion credit. That way you can talk to everyone else about what you got, wheter to boast or #$&*@. Just to get more player interaction going.

How about a variation of the % of drops as damage goes up? Ie below 5k you have 99% chance of a triphaser, 25k it drops to 75%, 100k drops to 50%, 200k 25%, with the remaining chance for rare items. Not a huge improvement, but it will at least give people motivation to hit bases harder.

I still think the drop should be a multiple choice crate. Or crates. Or whatever would fix the "No parser again ???" issue.

Even bringing "Sha'din Data Terminals" into discussion makes my heart bleed.

I've done nearly 200K to a Base, but it was a level 4 so it had less defense. That's something to keep in mind though: some Bases can be tougher than others but take a lot less damage. Some better reward system would be good, but basing it on damage might not work the best.

My idea ages ago was to change the crates based on position. and have guaranteed drops:
eg: top 1-10 = 2 drops, 1 Will be rare top 11-20 = 2 random drops top 21-30 = 1 random drop, could be anything 31> = 1 common drop.

lvl2 - N/A lvl3 - N/A lvl4 - Rare = Triphase, Uncommon = 40 CTP, Common = 20 CTP. lvl5 - Rare = phaser/Crystal, Uncommon = station, Common = Tri phase
And so on.

I'm a bit on the fense on this one.
Have I done more than 200K damage? Yes
Do I want a bigger incentive? Yes
Do I think its fair for the smaller player? No
If I'm just going to think about my self of course I want this new reward. But if this is implemented there are only a few ships that will earn this reward. Ships that are already uber will be the only ones to get this.
To name a few Willitner Remric Mento Frail AFluffybunny Psicore Nocifier Gallin Oakland Karrok
How will the other players feel if they were being prevented form gaining access to game content that only a few elite players have access to.
Again I do like this but I'm. Just not for it because not everyone will have access to it.
