I was looking though the legion search and I found it very difficult to look through and see all the legions. I imaging lower ranked players are having the same problems. There is no way to advertise your legion on GL - except on the GL forums. Most players starting out are probably looking for strong legions with similar ranking players - but end up applying to a legion on the first page of the search or scanning through many pages without finding a good legion (I've heard there are 500 pages of legions). The best advertising seems to be the top 50 leader board. I imaging many players simply play till they reach level 100 or so then try to apply to a top 50. I think if finding legions for players were alot easier and more organized it would make new players more happy with the game and more likely to invest time into it.

My idea using the leaderboard is, there be categories when u go into the search legion tab. And the categories are top 10, top 20, top 30, top 40, top 50, top 60 ect. til top 100. and when u click on any of those categories, all legions in those categories will show up only. Which makes for easy search. And for legions 101 up will be a categorie too. categorie 101+ will show legion 101, 102 ect.. in the 1st page and work it's way via the lot of them page by page.

One way would be to simply do it like the planet list and the up/down arrows. However there's so many one player legions that it would still be hard to start from the bottom up. If there was a min setting - like minimum # of player : ____ and you typed in 20 - then it would list all legions with 20-60 players with the arrows allowing you to go from the top to bottom or bottom to top of the list. Then again with minimum average rank ____. If you wanted to find legions with 40 players rather than 20 it would greatly reduce the list and be alot easier.

It would require a major overhaul of the legion search, but it's long overdue and would be a value tool for new players. I think Lone.Lycan, ODragon, or QCubed sifted through the entire legion list a couple months back and thanks to all the microlegions and inactives, the final number was...well...unholy. An updated search function plus a paring down of all the inactive and nonsense legions that exist would be great. +5

If I remember correctly, the end number was 564 pages. and that's probably ballooned in the past 3 months (they wanted to know what were the oldest legions)

If you wanted to find legions with 40 players rather than 20 it would greatly reduce the list and be alot easier. adding to this, you could have options that could show only legions whose strength is above a certain parameters like 45k-50k or even 100K-125K. another possibility could be to show a legions average level as another parameter, so only show legions whose average level is 300+ or 400+. i think the most ideal one which most people seem to ask is have a button that lists the legions chronologically. Now i know the legion search already does this but it would make it a lot easier if it jumps to the oldest legion first when you sort it this way rather than going through 500+ pages from the most recent through constant clicking of the next page button. this should benefit most legions as it cuts down on new legions that are formed, that shortly die, due to lack of interest after a few months because the members go inactive.

But it wouldn't cut down on the number of legions new players would have to slog through. There were just as many 1 man legions formed 18 months ago as there are now. Most, if not all, of those are now completely inactive and are a waste of time. Also, age doesn't necessarily indicate how good a legion is. Just look at The Unknown. We are the youngest Top 10 legion. Younger than many, many others in the top 50. Myself, I think just getting rid of all the inactive legions and the "microlegions" older than a certain age (1 month?) would alleviate many of the problems with the current search.

Even just changing the minimum level for leadership position to something like 200 will drastically shorten the search list permanently (would only take dan seconds to alter)
Dan should delete all 1 person legions (and all 0% active ones) older then 1 week (thats more then enough time to get players)
There you go 2 easy fixes that everyone will surely welcome
