 Defensive artifact dropping NPC

So we already have the Crimson Blades that drop artifacts that improve attack %. Crimson Amplifier's and Crimson Obelisk's

How about a new npc race that drops artifacts giving a boost to defense %? This could help to please people wanting a few different things. Create several different npc ships for this race in all different rank ranges from high to low, and maybe even a boss or elite to go with it that offers a more challenging presence for higher ranks to search out. It wouldn't be the end all to please their hunger for more content, but is a start.

Comment and add any suggestions to this idea please. Looking for feedback.

Meh... We've got Grid Consoles and XRP Warp Fuel (for mid to high ranks) and Dark Eluder Matrices (for base battles) and Customized Decoys (for bases or NPC from Dark Badges). I'd rather not have gobs of a defense artifact clogging my cargo because I can get more of them than I will ever be able to use.

I, on the other hand, disagree. At my rank, Grid Consoles are the only defensive Artifact I have access to. It's kinda like Crimson Amplifyers: do we really need them if we have Crydtal Foci, Obelisks, Recondrtie Intruders and Shockpulse Chragers. How about giving the NPC that drops it a rank limit (900?) that will give players enough space to hoards plenty, or make them CTP scrapable (3-5 CTP?)

However, Grid Consoles are random in claiming your artifacts, and XRP Warp Fuel you get from defeating an elite npc. Whereas the Crimson faction NPC's appear often on your bt. And yes, I have endless obelisks and amplifiers, but run out of consoles fairly quick when battling, and buffing up my ship. That and using most of them for ct lab.

My idea as stated before would add a new npc race, and allow for other rewards from the various ships that come with it. I don't see the harm. If you don't have enough space in your cargo, then scrap them. No big deal really.

What could you possibly need defense against? bases are covered by the above items + the BM50s, players you have xecti, the trinity cores the no invade for 40 days medal reward AND the gemini cannons + traps and NPCs you have the new silver badge + the kronyn medal item. most of these are perms and that is in addition to the velox thrusters. If you mean when you are on the offensive...well I can't see why we should give the attacker more defense...

I gotta agree with LittleFluffy, even though the name does make me laugh lol.

I very rarely use defensive buffs as they don't last long enough while I am away to be of any use, and when attacking, I would rather save that 5 energy for an extra hit. An attacker shouldn't need extra defence as the chances are, they are the only one online at the time, so can just repair their hull when they get low. Don't really want to be making it even easier for them. Im not against introducing a new NPC race, but one that is based on defence (as you would imagine this would be) would be one I avoided. As it is, most of the time I pick on the easiest to remove from my list in order to look for rares and this would just be one more clogging the list up.

I don't take kindly to people attacking my race's outpost. I also will certainly not attack them. You need to make it something that won't seem odd for players of certain races. The Mylarai build extractor is a good example, as the description says it's gone rouge.
