We've seen them on OGame and various other space games while looking at planet-screens.

Also, some of us would be more than happy to volunteer to draw the planets' surfaces ourselves. Then we submit the drawings, the dev team approves, and the end result is:

When we click on a planet, we see a background of the planet's surface. (Desert planets show dunes, Icy planets show an antarctic region, Gaia shows an Eden, Volcanic shows a cluster of volcanoes, and etc.

And I can't wait to see what the surfaces of a Dyson, Ecumenopolis, and such unique planets, would look like!)

Adds spice to the game. Please consider it!

When we need content updates as bad as we do right now, cosmetic suggestions are a waste.

I'm very sorry, but look at the game update for July. It only occupied one sentence (which is still a stretch, because it looked as long as half a sentence, IMHO.)

Where would the planet surface images be displayed? Do you have an example of what you were thinking of?

what about having an option where when you open a planet to view we could choose to display normal planet image or an over head view or the planet surface with all the buildings shown (i.e tribal wars style )

Yeah or Dan could actually focus on adding things to the game that are necessary, rather than just aesthetics.

I'm glad im not the only one who thinks Dan's time would be better spent adding new, exciting content and fixing bugs.

Have you got a list of the most critical features needing to be added?

This month, there wasn't much added for some reason, but it should always help to bring in new, critically needed ideas.

If there aren't any, then we can have new aesthetics.

There is a plethora of ideas that would stimulate interest and activity. Not the least of which are a Battle Arena, War Mode, and NPC Planets. Anything that would increase activity levels and general game interest MUST come before cosmetics. Many of the bigger projects take a lot of time to develop properly and cosmetics should never take away from that. Just because there is a low number of updates in a given month, it doesn't mean Dan should slap together something "pretty" that doesn't actually improve the game. That would be a slap in the face IMO.
