getting rid of deck space is not an issue. OP little ships is. their should be a limit to the crew size on little ships. ship class should also increse when you have a certin crew size to acomadate them.

I would love to do it, but its such a bad idea, that 3k damage cap is your best friend when fighting me.

being able to make your ship smaller ok why not lol, however to give a bonus back for taking it apart, all i could siport is a credit reward for scrap vaulue only. giving crew of any kind back is to op. i have over 2k ship bots in my cargo and i know many with far more.

Why stop there.... give everyone the exact same ships, don't worry about planning your ship build or number of decks and sticking to it for 1000 ranks lol. Punish those who have spent months and years working on their build and constantly rearranging it to fit a purpose.

Sorry dont mean to be rude but what your suggesting will just punish those who have gotten to where they are through hard work and make every high ranker have the exact same ship plus or minus some stats. GL is much more interesting the way the decks system works now.

i did not sugest it mate so do not quote me, its his idear. I was not for it just said why not lol.

and if you have not noticed all ships are the same we all have same dan has made it next to impossible to not be, even after years of asking for difent class items and so forth.

sorry it was more referring to both the topic and your post about small ship builds being overpowered, they will have a similar result in my opinion by diminishing the benefits of planning your number of decks.

Decks could be able to be taken out. It shouldn't be a problem at all.
I don't want to do it but others that want to should have that option,

I would love something to do with them.

But anything that allows redistribution of stats, especially deck size/tactical officers/engineers.. is inherently game destroying. I do not mean perhaps, or slightly, i mean utterly.

the reason people suggest to remove decks is because of how easy new SSB are to achieve... I don't want to erase 2 years of playing to create a new ship.. Damage cap formulas have changed since the game started.. artifacts that increase the value of starter planets (plasmas/demonics) have been created in the past year that again provide value to lower level players.. Bases have been created that can deck out the research or artifacts of new players in weeks instead of multiple months so they don't have to have the pain of building the ship in a certain way to play the game.. if you made adding crew dependant on deck size you wouldn't have this idea suggested by MANY players.. Very good observation CM :-)

There have been two changes to damage caps since the game began.

The first changed it away from hull size being the issue.
The second added rank as an issue.

Both of these things, from day 1, made it clear that having the biggest ship you can have would make you take more damage.

Research is massivly increased for low level players, yes. The thing is, research is the exact oposite of what a succesful small ship build needs. They cant install anything they research, after all.
Artifacts bases are a massive help for an early small ship build, but even at the equivilent of about 2k artifacts per hour offered by a high level legion base, we are talking a year of playtime before they can be compartive to what a research base/ship can do in a couple of months.

Sure, in two more years they will be another sweet tanky ship. But the thing is, at that point your artifact income and hull is going to be so high they cant even scratch your paint either - your always going to be able to kill them magnitudes of factors more easily than they can kill you.
