We have Planet Data Optimizers, Toxic purifiers, and various structures like the Exotic Lab that boost research and mining production, but very little in terms of artifact production boosts. Could we start getting something like the Planet Data Optimizer that works for artifacts? Even something like the Sulcation Portal Blueprint that was just added but for artifacts would be nice. Most of those special building are for research, some for mining, few are for artifacts. I would like to see more for artifacts. The Scruuge artifacts were the only ones to include increase artifact production that I can remember.

Yeah, I've suggested that before too, a few people supported it.

Maybe a few people noticed. I don't think anyone sane would disagree that something like that is dearly needed.

I like it I mean after all you can hold the most points in artifacts than anything else. So why not allow us to make our artifact worlds better?

Maybe restrict the artifacts to desert planets and make it x2, like with the toxic purifiers. I must say that I am quite scared of how things work on higher ranks as far as getting new planets to colonize goes. 260k research into scanners + 2 billion credits + 2k energy netted me 64 new planets from which I can mention one average sized metallic and one small oceanic as far as rares go. That's it. I would be OK with it if the desert/toxic/ whatever I found would be decent. Alas, it's like the Galaxy is on meth. Although since I started playing (half September) the number of planets went up 300k (that's a 50% increase) I must say that it's like all the new "babies" the Galaxy gave birth to have horrible deformities. The deserts are either tiny/small or very sparse/ abundant at best or both. Toxics are either small or sparse or both. The rares are not only, well, rare, but they are also awful at times. I'm not that old RL but for sure I feel like the best part of my game life, as far as finding planets goes, is behind me. It's like every scan is worse than the last one with the one 4-5 scans ago being already bad. *Le sigh*

Would probably be better if scanning scaled in rank but i see how it could be abused also.. just the nature of the beast i guess. At higher ranks you need to make your own planets xD

Maybe Dan should implement some more artifacts that are dropped by NPC's that upgrade planets?

in response to the toxic purifier/desert planet post. Why not an artifact called "giant ice meteor" that when used increases the resources by 25% like the terra former. and when used on a desert enough times it become a terra planet because you've basically just put a whole bunch of water in the desert.

and if used on a terra, gaia, barren, exotic planets, too many times, they become oceanic because you've just drowned everything in a giant melted meteor.

for volcanic planets it could cool them down if enough are used and they could either become Barren planets or Metallic planets, just depends on what the mineral resource level is when used.

Well, I notice the research one is any planet, the mineral one is toxic only. An artifact richness enhancer could be either, though there is a narrower range of planets it might work on. It would be nice to get something like that sometimes, with similar rarity to the other two drops.
