NPC Alerts/"Traps"

 Is it really necessary to post an alert box and put the same trap 20-40 times from the npc when i already can feel the effects of it (example -40% defence), it would be easy to check if i already had an alert of that trap and then skip it instead of spam it non-stop.

seriously, that annoys the hell out of me. and since the effects don't stack why have it show more than once? and it also scrolls the news feed to where it's harder to find alerts.
