 New uncommon npcs, drops minerals and/or artifact points

We already have an rsl cannon which drops 50 research and another one which drops 250 research. How about 2 new uncommons which drop 50-250 mineral and 50-250 artifact. I think that will encourage more npcing. The new bosses have certainly been interesting additions, but we could use a new solo npc in the mix.

really? 50-250 MINING?? whats that gonna net you, 2million credits?

arti points... im not checking the wiki, but damn, you might get a cloning pod out of that.. yeah, i need more of those.

It adds up you know. Don't have to cash it in immediately after disabling ONE of these NPCs. I realize you're a few hundred ranks higher than myself but use some logic. Sheesh.

how often do those npcs show up? honestly, i can do 5-10K npcs in a week and the number of rsl cannons that show up isnt that many.
my suggestion would be to make the amount more. like 750-1500 per each.

In all honesty I'm not sure why the OP didn't bring up the common Rogue Science Pod and its numerous variants, which also drop research points when disabled.

Maybe the Dark Warper/Velocitor should carry 50-250 artifact points while some new common T.O Mining-Cargo NPC should carry 50-250 minerals.

All of those stop showing up after a certain rank that's why.

As for the drops of mineral and artifact points, meh they are insignificant I rather not dilute the ranks I can see troop carriers with them.

I would love to see NPC's drop mineral and arti points. Like others said here it does add up over time. Though I do think that they should be higher or at least make new common ones that drop a much smaller amount as the tech carriers do. Say drop 5 or 10 mineral or arti points per disable. While this would still be a small amount if you NPC enough you may get a good amount in the end. That would be roughly 1K -2K points per 200 of those kills. Go on a blitz for 3 - 4 hours in a day you can get a decent amount making it worth while. Where just killing a few won't do much good.

you know that dan is stingy when it comes to arti points. even getting 50-250 is a good amount and it adds up over time. I would take a measly 100 ap per drop over the useless crimson obelisks any day. Maybe if its set as a common npc, then it would be more enticing as well to collect smaller amounts over time.

well then if you want arti points, do some PVP and raid.. at higher ranks, as you well know, youll get 1K plus on every raid... im nearing 3K on critical raids and they happen often

Many players don't want to get into PVP right now. And they want want to get more treats while NPCing for long periods of time as they look for the new high end NPC's. Its easy to say to just do this or that. Heck they could just take a new planet and get more but that is not the point. We are talking about how to make NPC's more attractive to everyone. I don't know if the trooper rank limit has been raised yet or not (I hope it has) but if not then Dan needs to do something. He really does if he never plans on raising it. Giving arti and mining points to high end players would do this if he does it right. Though I think they would all take the trooper over that any day. lol

I like it .. I say just change the dark runners from dropping obelisks to dropping mining points and have the dark trafficker/blade harvester/mylarai extractor guy .. drop arti points in addition to their regular drops. This wouldn't dilute the npc pool.. my crimsonobelisk total would finally come under control.. and the arti point drops are uncommon but dropped from 3 existing npcs..

Have a NPC slightly more uncommon than your roge tech collector.

On the lines of T.O.
T.O. Ore transporter
Might be a better name for the ship what carries minerals.

Then for the artifact one:
Black Market Carrier (Related to Dark smuggles Guide)
Could be a suitable name.

After reading the ideas, As things are rank based.
What about the ship carring 20% AP/Mining points of your Rank.

You are rank 100, you get 20.
Rank 500, You get 100.
Rank 1000, You get 200.

Like i said, Mining should be a little rarer than a rouge tech collector, and the AP one should be rarer than the Mining.

This should sort everything out and make every one happy.

There are also 2 worthless npc's that do not drop anything: the dark runner and the shadin charger. Another proposal as they are common and appear often is to have them drop some insignificant amount, say 20 minerals per charger and 10 artifact points per dark runner. It's not much, but definitely encourages npcing, and over time becomes worthy to stock up. Nothing that drastically changes the status quo of the game, but for those that regularly spend 1-2 hours a day npcing is a worthy reward.
