I joined a legion with something like 15 members 2 1/2 years ago, it was hardly the most active or strongest of legion, I joined because I like the name. That legion is now The Terranian Armada and we have a legion mission active right now, with a bit of work time and effort it can be done and you'll have a lot of fun doing so. Look up some tips from experienced players on how to recruit, they will be time consuming but it will pay off in the end.

If there were downsides to being in a large active legion, I would say, sure maybe the legion mission bar would need to be lower. But the fact is there are large legions for all kinds and ranks of players, and the fact that so many players choose to stay in small legions despite all the downsides and no apparent (at least to me) upsides is baffling. upside to a small legion is very much CONTROL. you can see how bases work, and you don't have to deal with the drama / politics of a larger legion where one bozo can ruin things for everyone else. i learned a great deal from starting and leading World Task Force for many months, and when i had gleaned what i needed from that experience, i knew what i wanted in my next legion and chose accordingly. as long as pilots who start their own legions know about the trade-offs, that is fine, and i think with these legion missions, Dan has clearly indicated which one he would prefer most players move towards without forcing anyone to play that way. works for me.

Personally I feel that while joining a bigger legion is much more beneficial, starting or joining a lower level legion is much more fun, challenging and very fulfilling when you see it blossom.

Well after this update no one is going to want to join a small (level or size) legion unless they are new to the game.

Just made it worse, the legions that have this are going to want lv 200 + players, the players that are under 200 will just start quitting the game, or joining legions that are dead end that would not have been if some of the other suggestions where put in.

That's just ridiculous, there are people who will join the highest level legion they can in order to reap the most rewards and there are people who are willing to make great sacrifices to start or help a legion along. That will never change no matter what Dan adds into the game.

Legions that do well have more to give than this new toy. If your legion has little to offer, expect little interest.

Isnt this the same kind of talk with boss npc hunting and base battles, and then base crates and now the same for this...there is a lot of good reasons to be in a legion the same size as you are, or better. nothing will change that.

Precisely I doubt all of a sudden because legion missions were released everyone will begin flocking to the big legions.

Yeah, hope some of the smaller legions that are contacted for mergers might start merging with the decent legions then.
