 Halcs no longer effective for passive players.

That makes no sense... Why would Dan make it so PVPing did not help you make your ship better for PVPing?? That seems a bit pointless doesn't it?
Edit: Also there are plenty of missions that help improve your ship for PVP as well.

I was just trying to bring up a legitimate concern I have... I can't know the numbers for sure, only Dan can. But I feel that there are less people joining and sticking around then when I first started playing. I can only guess, based on what I have heard from my legion mates and that is that there is more PVPing in low levels than when I joined, and that directly corresponds to the introduction of new red badge items.

I understand that but when older players first started i'm sure there were incentives to make them PVP, like when I started the Dom cannons were something I aimed to get as soon as I could. I don't think things have changed too much in respect to people PVPing more to gain new items.

And if you don't care about the pvp aspect of the game .. why do you care if your ship gets disabled while your offline? You're not losing production (with the exception of a couple of arti/research points) and as soon as you come back online you amp up halc up and you can continue being passive with no worry that your play time will in anyway be interfered with by those chestpounding pvp apes...


I do care about the pvp aspect of the game hence why I stated that the people above stop whining about getting disabled. I'm not a passive player so I think you got confused by something I said.

CA's and halcs are perfectly fine the way they are, it isn't broken so don't fix it. There are other issues that need more attention than people that don't pvp worrying about being disabled. If you are passive than that number of deaths should be of no consequence to you.

I see a lot of hypocritical posting going on here. First you complain PVP is dead, now you complain it's not dead and too undead? I say put on your jockstraps, suck it up, and put your hypocritical efforts into killing the ships you've always wanted. Because as soon as ANY of your "improved" ideas are implemented you'll go back to complaining about it.

Photon I haven't pvped in near 250 ranks I see no point in it seeing as there is no way to actually win a fight its a pointless waste of energy and a never ending source of drama. If it was possible I would say put a little tab in a player option that removed a player and all they own planets and what not out of pvp but its not going to happen that is outright ridicules.

But the game isn't all pvp something that most people don't realize or refuse to for some odd reason. And as many of you know I am part of a smaller legion as a result we get alot of players that are new to the game and you would be surprised how many new players find the player base in this game unbearable, most of them quit within days because of experienced players who reset or because of players who are just hyper aggressive with their pvp habits.

PvP is active and alive now but the issue is the true pacifists in the game are getting a really raw deal with things the way it is at the moment.

Only to those who are narrow minded there are loads of ways to play GL from rank 1 to rank 900 without ever even attacking another player or planet.

Call me old fashioned but why bother with halc, calming amps etc if your passive, stay disabled until you want to do something that requires you to repair. and when finished and offline why would you care what happened to your ship ????

The reason why is because not everyone has 5 digit productions and even a single raid can take 2 hours worth of supplies from a weaker player.
Not to mention there are some people who will make a note of your ship being weaker and as such will hunt you down and single you out just to have a easy kill and will wait hours at a time for you to repair....

There are literally players out there that will do their very best to torment weaker players because as they say "what you going to do about it".

Because their are missions that you have to be repaired for and you cant NPC if your disabled now can you?

Regardless the protections for passive players are no longer adequate.

Here is the thing for a average player the amount of attacks coming in quickly burn though your supplies of halcs if your not under truce effect for even 10 minutes someone will trip your halc.
