Rank doesn't really matter here, except that it means you probably have a better understanding of the game and probably better modules. - A reset would not have a problem from understanding game mechanics.
If someone owns nothing but a Dyson and produces, say, 1000 production from it then
1000 / 1 = 1000
They could be rank 1 (Unlikely with 1000 production, but bear with me.)
Or they could be rank 1000.
Imagine if the rank 1000 only owned planets which produced 1000 production each.
Say he owns 251 planets.
251000 / 251 = 1000
Regardless of your rank and number of planets, your PQI is going to average out consistently.

Nope. Better structures and greater access to planetary uplifts will cause a positive correlation between rank and PQI.

you can be a rank 1 and have researched all the mods, sure it might have taken a while but it can be done! then again a rank 1k might have not researched half of them because he could not be bothered and since you get no xp from research it does not affect your rank

It might make a difference up to like.. Rank 300 or so. Albeit I'm not there yet, but after that you should have +12s.

Subtracting the few planets I am holding for ongoing trades that are producing absolutely nothing... 1,146 production per planet
Without excavator bonus 1,078 production per planet
@Trinity Three How much of your total AP comes from your 3 invincible planets?
