Like many other game (majority of RPG) you can put some unwanted item into a forge to create a new random one.
We only need to choose artifact from AP value of total artifact scrap divide by 3 or 5.
Longevity Serum need 1000 AP. If you scrap 100 Longevity Serum. You have 100 000 AP capacity.
100 000 / 5 = 20 000. You have the possibility finding a Mass Storage Pod.
Or more simple, you can scrap artifact to replendish 1/5 of they cost in AP.

I like this idea. If you are looking for certain artifacts, you don't want to waste your artifact points. So you can redeem a certain number of points and keep looking for the artifacts you want.

Yeah, I like this. Most of the Artifacts give so little credit returns that it's almost pointless to bother scrapping them. But I usually have to simply because of a lack of cargo space. Having a chance to get something else would be extremely useful.

I like this idea too. I'm sitting on 1200+cloning pods hoping to do something besides scrap them for chump change.

I have to agree this is one of the best ideas for artifact points in a long time. I had been thinking on this issue myself and could never come up with a percentage that I felt was right. My feeling is that it should be probably either 30% or 40%. Also I would say give us a choice to sell it for credits or scrap for artifact points. But I have to say I want thing idea implemented.

Artifacts are... artifacts. Something old and ancient and powerful and not completely understood. You're proposing a system where we can take these things and "give them back" for more APs? How realistic is that? If you take a real artifact and break it, all you have is bits. Not something you can refashion. The best you can do with a real artifact is sell it to someone who wants it and that is how it should be in this game as well.

dont think of it as smashing them, think of trading it to a galactic pawn shop, where you get credit for them and you can redeem it by collecting a new artifact.

Why all planet, all ship can be attack instantly? Galaxy travel is instant? It's a game, not all thing MUST be realistic. A good idea must be simple to do. like by many player, not advantage only one kind of player (only high level, only human, ...) and not something to scrap the game like a + 60 energy rate relay. Be realistic, who's care?

They make more money off of this than my Idea what are you talking about? you can only get the really good artifacts from buying them, not out of the draw! and you cant get prisoners or mass storage pods from gp, so this is the only solution to get them!

They make more money off of this than my Idea Who speak about remove arti from GP ? only you. The idea is only have little % from crap artifact you get to replendish AP AP = Artifact Point, not Galaxy Point.
