Continuum beacons... all they eat up 5000 ap points :D and they are useless unless you are doing a scanning spree which is not often, like mass storage pods might eat alot, but there helpful... in a way. continuum beacons are not and they just eat away you AP and im almost guaranteed to get 1 or 2 from a 36 k artifact shipment. stuff like spy probes and void shells are useless too but at least you dont eat up a enormous amount of AP...
thoughts people?

I'm hoping eventually they'll make repeatable missions for most of the less useful artifacts, like Darkness Falls. They wouldn't need to give anything too great, maybe just various 1 point/space (or some attack/defense/cloak) structures or something.

i agree with commonwealth. theyre too common. maybe dan'll do something like he did with mass storage pods. make em so they become rare. i agree, it was AWFUL when they first came out, but now its getting to be just as bad. i know theyre not as common as they initially were, but every couple weeks im scrapping 20+ of them. and since i only do a scan spree every 4-5 months, i think this is a fair request, especially since they offer a percentage boost instead of a hard limit. this way players will have to use them wisely, and actually make the artifact WORTH the cost in gp.

I agree we get way too many of them and the amount of Ap they are it is just a pain. I hate scrapping so many of them because they are basically useless when your not doing a scan sweep. Please make these much more rare!

Thats stupid. why dfk would you do four scanning sprees in 2 hours?? you do one WHOLE one scanning spreee and find 150 or so planets and a scanning spree last only 10 minutes only, you shock all your sensors activate all scanning arts and scan untill you chances to find planets drops to very poor. THEREFORE, multiple continuum beacons are USELLESS.

I was using the four in a row as an example, what I personally would do is use them about every few days or so when i get another scanning module. Plus the scans or perfect for NPC hunting because they help find rarer NPC's, and Critical hits. So they are NOT a complete waste, and they seem just find for most people

They take 10 energy to activate and only last one hour, you wouldn't any npcs can scan plays a very little factor in finding npcs. As with critical strikes, you are likely to do more damage if you invested 100 energy in pressing the attack button rather than 10 energy on the stupid beacon and 90 energy pressing the attack button.
If you want to do more damage like activate your crimson obelisks and crystal ACFs, crimson amps if you want more firepower, you dont activate continuum for more firepower since critical strikes don't turn the tides of a battle.

They could be useful enough while fighting NPCs to help get criticals, it just depends on how much energy you can get through in the time it's active.

NPC's can be found faster if your stronger, higher ranks have enough energy to do it all crimson obilisks and continuem beacons, they have enough they just wanna waste em, because they have the cargo to keep it all. Lower ranks barely get continuem beacons, but they are fine just the way their are to most people, they may need to be a little bit rarer, just a little. But they are still useful

As of this statement im done with this topic as it seems you dont see the major benifits of continuem beacons, i see the major cons of it but they arent that high, to me your as stubborn as a muel,but i would like the drop rate to go down a smidge not to much because remember lower ranks havent gotten the chance you guys have so it wouldnt be fair

Josh, at level 73 or whatever, you really have no concept of how annoying a 5000 point drop is for an artifact that you really only use once a week or so. Having 50 planets or so scanned is no big deal, but as you have more scanned, you need to wait longer in-between scan blitzes while you collect and use Purgers. When you get to the point where you are cashing in 30K, 40K, 50K AP and get 6 or 7 of them EVERY DAY, you will start to understand. The drop rate needs to be lower or the AP cost needs to be lower. I'd be happy with either one.
Also, FYI... With the exception of a few Elite/Boss NPCs that have a cloak score (ones that you will not be able to see for a while yet due to rank), INCREASING YOUR SCAN HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH FINDING MORE RARE NPCs...
