 New "planet" type: Ringworld

We have Dyson spheres in the universe already, but I'm missing ringworlds that builds on the somewhat same principle but only have a ring around a star instead of a whole sphere.
In Sci-Fi literature I believe the concept was introduced by Larry Niven.

i actualy suggested this before. A ring would go around a whight dwarf star, and there would be a main city part that rotates around on the ring. they basically get there energy from the dying white dwarf.

PS; i saw this on a show called the universe. ;)
