i believe that religions will ruin the game !!!

did you even read that post? its not even really a religion, just philosophies for the races to give added bonus'

I do agree. Religions would probably just get complaints about political correctness, and then the atheists, and the agnostics would start yelling, and the Jews and Muslims, and Christians would call them arrogant, etc, etc, etc. Philosophies are fine, but keep religions out.

just another thought tho, why would they need to be religions as we know it?? like...look at relgion the 360 makes on games like Mass Effect. Some Aliens are based on Ancestor Worships, Some based on Monothistic beliefs, and others based of Rencarnation. i dont really care about religion being on this game, but like if it did come on here then id wouldnt be christianity or jewdism. it would just be another bonus thing. like i dont see why ppl have to put more into gaming belief than they should. it shouldnt make the game less fun

i think the reason ppl dont even want to try messing with that is because it is nearly impossible to have an original idea. there are 6 billion ppl in the world, and billions more have been here before them. to create a 'new' religion is impossible, because people will say its a ripoff of a modern or ancient religion.

ancestor worship-chinese
monotheism- judeism, christianity, islam
'aliens'- scientology and derivitives of egyptology
war based- every ancient religion has a god of war
polytheism- again, every ancient religion
reincarnation- buddhism

those are just the basics of modern religion, and there are literally THOUSANDS more. any efforts made will just be a combination of modern religions, or complete ripoffs. its best to just not even try.

Yeah. If you can think of it some dude in 2000 BC worshiped it. Jedi ism was even a real life thing. (Not with force sensitive people. They said all living creatures can sense when something is in pain.) Just impossible to do it. Anyway, no his idea is not religion. Sorry that i bumped an old thread. But when you flame me you will be bumping it as well so just let it drop to the end of the list. If no one posted on your idea then chances are it wasn't any good.

i used to play dungeons and dragons, and the thing that killed the experience for me was ppl started getting religions involved in the game and it just ruined it for me.... i would hate for the same to happen with this, because i really like galaxy legion
and really, the only use for religions or philosophies here would mean only one thing : increased production or abilities, and i'm just not that greedy, i can wait for the timer, or colonize a new planet, or whatever
besides, the racial abilities already reflect their philosophies and religions by having characteristic bonuses that only they get

well only a couple of them were for production. and i dont think any abilities were added. just an increase in Ncp or planets poppin up.

either or. i mean id think that those would be kinda like proffessions. some races could have them and others wouldnt

i kinda tried to say that earlier, they just said im takin ideas. i mean the over all theme of religions are all gonna be the same. but The stories and philosophies will change with each religion.

and Detregets, in D&D if you dont like what the DM says you can pray to your god for a better outcome. i dont think that would apply the same here.

I for one would like to see what members could dream up for a "religion" or "belief"
for their race. I made one up for a "human" race on a different space RPG because
it can't be the same if they are from different planets.

well go ahead and go to Race Philosophies. and feel free to add something. it doesnt have to be a game thing like the lists i made for them. just some fun goofy beliefs or whatever. i made a list of philosophies with Effects for the game if they add it.
