ok so looking over my ship and comparing modules that I got from missions/NPC's I'm thinking someone else has been at this point so when should they get scraped and replaced with purchaseable modules

eg;

Zolazin Jammer , space 10, cloak 40

I find myself with them un-installed and instead run with Stealth Field Emitter Cloak +191 space 34 , it's 19.1 cloak per 10 spaces but don't have room with the zolazin jammers on .... guess it may come down to ship configuration and what your going after

just curious before I do anything, at what rank and/or research tier have people went ahead and scraped some of these items ?

never simple as that keep all Mission and NPC modules (unlesss you have all of the NPCs module then you can scrap it.)

Only if you ever get more then you can have on your ship. (So this is mostly NPC ones like the crisman weapons ect...).

If I can have two and only two of it on my ship, ill keep it there.

If you've already installed them I wouldn't scrap them. They're only worth a marginal amount of cash at that point which is pretty worthless. Eventually your ship will be big enough to equip them all anyway and you'd rather have that option than a little bit of money.

On the other hand, complex tech parts have more value. I wish I'd scrapped the Zolazin Jammers in the first place and taken the tech parts. Unless a module now adds to attack, energy, or scan (3 things I want to max out whenever I shoot something, level, or go on a scanning binge) I tend to scrap it for parts.

No thats a mistake to scrap them if you would have done that you would regret it forever unless you reset. Rule 1: NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER Scrap Mission Modules.

josh is right, if you scrap a mission arti or module you will never ever get it back unless you email dan and ask him to give them back

Do not scrap them. They are 2 extra jammers.

Zolazin Jammer in particular does 3 things:

1) allows you to have small but efficient amounts of cloak equipped in a general sense
2) allows you to increase your maximum cloak in a 'max cloak' ship set-up by 40.
3) when you have essentially infinite deck space it increases your cloak by 40

My contention is none of those things is terribly relevant. I don't ever have need for a 'max cloak' set-up and even if I did 40 more is a drop in the bucket. Having the ability to squeeze in a little cloak on my normal configuration is nice, but it's not critical. I have many size 10 modules unequipped at any given time and could easily swap one of those in for similar marginal utility gains.

I don't know how many tech parts it is actually worth, but if it is worth 20 tech parts then it would only take 250 of them to build a level 4 legion base. The immediate and long term gains from having a bigger base vastly outweigh any gains in any of the above 3 categories when it comes to cloak.

Attack, scan, or energy are different to me. Whenever I use any of those I want the most I can get my hands on at the exclusion of anything else. Having access to more modules that I can equip when I need them is important. Decreasing my max set-up for those 3 stats has a definite cost that I don't want to pay for the bigger base. But something has to go if you're newish and want to upgrade it and cloak is one of those stats that just doesn't matter as much.

Im surprised that I dont see the basic answer here. Everyone is kind of saying it but, not? I dunno. You can only get the 2 jammers. They are rewards from a mission, not a basic npc drop. And they are independent of any researchable modules. They don't count toward maximum number of cloaking modules.

Me personally, I have none. That's because I haven't done the mission yet, but if I were to do it, and earn them, they would sit in my cargo hold, because one day, when I have the space, I will install them.

One day.

Don't throw them away. ESPECIALLY for TECH PARTS when now, common npcs are out there that give you tech parts freely.

You never had the option to do this. Zolazin jammers are automatically installed on your ship when you complete the mission. Even if you don't have enough room for them, they put you over your cap.

Yup, when decks is the limiting factor for what can be put on your ship they suck. But when you get to the point where you have all the decks you could ever want, those are the greatest items around.
