Zepther Empire
Recently an army of self-aware drones has entered the area of known space. Though we do not know where they come from, we know they are in search of a machine eutopia. They have been relentless in their quest to take over our planets.

A few ships:
Z-Seeker Drone
Z-Stinger Drone
Z-Storage Freiter
Haven Colony Ship
Titan Battleship
Zepther Prime (a planet-sized ball of animate metal) (boss)

I think the Drannik drones would be quite jealous.

The main difference is in motive and technology. Drannik Drones follow simple programing set out by their creators. The Zepther Empire follow a hive-mind intelegence of unkown origin. Drannik Drones just replicate. The Zepther Empire seek to control the universe to make it into a perfect world. (in their eyes) I was hoping to make them into a plot-driven NPC, much like the Glaviz-Zolazin War. If the Zepther Empire is the smoking gun, then who is pulling the trigger?

Throw in some Shadows, Wraith, or Cylons and it would be an eye candy fest. Matress wants that film! Image

Shadows and Wraiths aren't machines.

Cylons, that'd be interesting.

I'd like to see a 5-way battle.

Borg
Replicators
Cylons
Daleks
Cybermen

Who said Nocifer's movie just had to be machines? Throw in all the scifi badguys I say and let them duke it out. 8-)

If you are trying to suggest a new organization / race, obviously they will need to be somewhat unique and stand out on their own.

Some things to think about:

- What do they look like?
- What are their primary characteristics? What sets them apart from others?
- What are their motives? What drives their current actions?
- How are they organized (government, etc)? What establishes a rule of law?
- How do they relate to the other races/orgs in the game? Are there any alliances or wars?

0.0 BEST IDEA EVER
The Xer'Atul
-They look like pandas, with top hats and monocles(sometimes shoes). But with neon colored hair on their heads, and then the rest is like regular pandas.
-Theyre ships use special torpedos filled with chemicals that do DOTs(Damage Over Time). As well as advanced gauss weaponry. They sound British and are pretentious.
-They want 4 things resources and technology for their homeworld, and for the rest of the galaxy to use "proper" grammar like they do. As well as to free what they believe is their Panda brethren which are kept by the rich in the galaxy as servants.
-They are organized into clans, the "Raqual" which focuses on defensive tactics, the "Cansar" clan which focus on relentless attacks, the "Bobard" which focus on making space stations, as well as many others.
-They like to trade information with the Vygoid(allied), they wish to either enslave or learn the energy absorbing properties of the Inergon(allied/enemies), they consider the Konqul a barbarish race but may hire them as mercenaries(neutral), and they like to trade supplies with the Sillix(allied). But they are willing at any time to act hostile towards anyone for the glory, and honour of their queen.
They have no contact with the Prejor but love messing with their tech. They have one connection to the Glaviz that only the queen can use. They do not so much as consider themselves at war as much as "skirmishing" with the Zolazins. They learned all that they can about Drannik technology through dissection and thusly are considered hostile to the Drannik(and attacked by them frequently) but they can easily destroy even powerful Drannik ships due to their knowledge about them. They consistently use the Dark Smugglers Guild to transport their goods. They have never been hacked by the Sha'din Coalition. They also practically own the Rogue Science League as they are almost always the "Highest bidder". They are allied with the Terran Outsiders and trade with them often, but are distrustful of them. They hate the Crimson Blades for attacking their trade routes. They are loosely affiliated with the Stryll Order, but keep it under wraps. And consider the Lazuli Syndicate mere flies in their paths.
"THEY BRING PANDEMONIUM"

Race- Zepther
Appearance- a liquid mass of metal alloys, capable of shaping whatever weapons or defences they want by rearanging their crystal computer sub-structure. Their ships are very much made of many Zepther combining together into a single form, always in a spherical or cylindrical shape.
Motives- They follow a prime directive set forth by their creator: to advance, adapt, and assimilate other technologies. This is for the purpose of enforcing power, to create a eutopia for less forunate races. And it is for that noble purpose that they try to attack every planet they come to.
Organization- All Zepther share a hive-mind with a central core, coordinating their every move into a seamless whole. Calling their creator "The Titan", they worship him for giving them "morality" that other androids do not have.
Relation- The Zepther have only just arrived from outside known space, but in only a short time, they have already begun exterminating Drannik Drones for being without "morality". They have also made the Terran Outsiders very angry with taking one of their planets as an outpost in this sector.

a spin off of a race that i helped create a LONG LONG time ago in a galaxy far far away...

Race: XYN - not a abreviation
- What do they look like?
they have no known appearance. their ships may seem like a blob while idle, but may form complex tech on the fly if challenged. not many that have actually seen them in a battle configuration has lived to tell about it.
- What are their primary characteristics?
they are primarily micro organisms, but have adapted very advanced nano technology which helps them to deconstruct/construct matter from raw materials on a atomic scale. they were once individuals, but now share a hive mind based on their technology advancements allowing long range communication to relay hubs. there is no queen. they are all equals. the more of them there are in a space (have connections to one another), the smarter they all are.
- What sets them apart from others?
they are sub-sentient, and react based on instinct rather than intellect. however their reactions and tactics may be very sophisticated compared to the standard level of intelligence of other races.
- What are their motives? What drives their current actions?
they have no goals or motives. they expand and grow based on their #'s at any given time. they will lie dormant for years until disturbed. if they are "threatened" they will act to eradicate the entire species from the galaxy (mass genocide).
- How are they organized (government, etc)? What establishes a rule of law?
no law, expand and find new resources to build. build build build. all races with more advanced tech will be sought and "infiltrated". the tech will get stolen and the data streamed back to hubs in deep space.
- How do they relate to the other races/orgs in the game? Are there any alliances or wars?
neutral to all races, but in the sake of expansion, any race "in the way" is considered an enemy and destroyed. they should be considered a plague of the galaxy and quarantined if possible. if they do not have enough materials to keep them satisfied in their expansion they can easily break containment. there is no known method to killing them, but a few races tried... they extinct or near extinct. very few survivors were able to flee. the XYN are capable of "infiltrating" a ship with their weapons then infecting and taking over the ship. they are also capable of infecting biological organisms and using them as carriers. they will infect the hosts undetected until all known of that race are infected then activate a alert to start producing toxins to kill the host. the XYN are also capable of using their ships for battle, but prefer not to.

As a way to revive this thread (for others to post their ideas of other NPCs) while having a good reason to do so, I have a few modules that the Zepther would have:

Titan's Eye Control System-
Direct access to a Zepther adapted Protogrid
gives scan

Zepther Magneton Deflector-
A perfected magnetic/graviton shield hybrid
gives shield

Zepther Melody Codex-
A prototype adaption to magnifying shield harmonies
gives shield charge

Zepther Adaptive Latice-
A latice shield perfected with a mutable data harmonizer
gives shield and shield charge

Zepther Phase Launcher-
A cannon that condenses phase energy into a magnum
gives attack

Zepther Eternity Drive-
An advanced phase engine that sustains complete seperation from normal space
gives defense

Guess I'll try to make a NPC suggestion of my own.

The Rhandi
As a race that evolved from communal insects, the Rhandi place an extremely strong value on their relationships with others. It is a rare thing indeed to come across a Rhandi who will knowingly cheat another living being. However, Rhandi only extend this code of honor to those beings that are entirely biological in nature. They noticably less friendly (though not necessarily hostile) toward those who make use of cybernetic implants, and immediately open fire upon any Drannik Automaton that dares come within range of their weapons.

Each of the Rhandi planetary governments, or 'Nests' as the Rhandi refer to them, is populated exclusively by the Queenborn - a designation given to those hatched during a 6 year period of their mother's life believed to be the ideal time to bear children. During their time as a Queen, the female Rhandi's body produces bioluminescent chemicals that give her a subtle orange 'glow'.

As NPCs, I envision the Rhandi as a law-abiding merchant species, carrying the sorts of useful and legit cargo you wouldn't trust the Dark Smugglers to not keep for themselves.

In the off chance that the Rhandi prove likable enough to manage full-out PC status, perhaps a bonus that helps your legion more than it does yourself. Something like "While active, this player grants an additional +1% bonus to the planetary attack, defense, and cloak of his/her legion"

Ill give my idea:
Bodian Empire
-They are tall, blue-skinned, muscular, and have a large head.
-They were genetically altered to be highly intelligent. Their ships are flat on the bottom, with half a dome on top and the back is very steep.
-Their motive is to expand their empire across the whole galaxy. They were a genetically altered animal created by the Rouge Science League as an experiment. The RSL gave the animal intelligence. They basically created the Bodians to feed like a parasite off of the technology they develop with their advanced intelligence. As the Bodians explored the galaxy they found there were 1000's of competing races. They decided they must expand in order to survive, and so they did.
-They are organized in a Republic-like system of goverment. All Bodian ships have a subspace link inbetween them, so if a ship is in distress all ships who can will be able to help without the ship sending a signal.
-They are allied very closly with their creators, the Rogue Science League. They are at war with the Terran outsiders as they are preventing their mission of expansion

The MiP'Sai Transitionals
(Militant Physiology-genus Sai)

The Story:
The MiP'Sai is only a myth. According to the story; The Prejor once discovered in a midst
of galactic dark clouds, a star system with 36 small aquatic planets arranged in 3 orbits
(11+12+13) around a sun. The Prejor thought that it must have been a design of a highly
advanced race and must be conquered quickly. As a warning they decided to blow up one of
the planets and gave the rest 35 hours to surrender peacefully or prepare for a full blown
war. Before the 35 hours was over and before the Prejor was able to attack, all the remaining
planets turned into nothing but toxic worlds leaving no trace of intelligent life.

After that incident, every year, 35 rogue asteriods would find their way towards a Prejoran
planet and finally, towards the end of a year a small size barren planet is in a collision
course towards their planet.

The Faction:
The Mip'Sai(Militant Physiology-genus Sai) Transitional units are a subspecies of IP'Sai
(Intricate Physiology-genus Sai). The faction name is a misnomer as the Mip'Sai is no longer
capable of metamorphosis or evolution because of their design and has a significantly lower
life span than their cousins. Of the Sai race, only the MiP'Sai is capable of
extraplanetary exploration or dealing with other races.

Appearance: In the particular design of Mip'Sai, when exposed to extra-planetary
environment; Their skin dries up and becomes scaly and very dark. Their extra tentacle-like
appendages at the back becomes wings but they have no purpose as the Sai has antigrav
mechanisms.

The Race:
The IP'Sai refers to the pre-metamorphosis form of Sai. They are about 2 feet tall and has
luminiscent blue or green skin with intricate red spiral patterns. They have emerald or jade like
eyes, 2 arms, 2 legs, a tail and 4 extra appendages at the back that can transform into
something else depending on the invironment which can be aquatic, sub-terranian or both.

Ships:
MiP'Sai ships are all extremely rare and almost always scout sized.
*Stellar Surveyor - An extremely fast unmanned scout ship. It can disappear quickly as
soon as it is discovered. It has a high probability of self-destructing every time it is
hit.
*MiP Turnstop - an unusual stationary structure with no known purpose. It can be hacked
from the distance but gives nothing. The Dark Smugglers Guild once found the structure and
determined that it would require 15 ships to take it down. When one of the ships attacked
it twice, it was subsequently distroyed giving that one ship the rights to all the loot
according to The Dark Guild's rules LOL
*Mip Harbor - The Dark Smugglers Guild is said to have acquired a sketch of this most
unusual structure. It is theorized as a temporary structure used for terraforming and
engineering a star system.

Here's my idea

The Homminean Republic (Pronounced Hoe-meen-ian)

Homeworld-Homminee (Duh)

Race-The Hommineans all came from the same planet, and have very adaptable DNA. It often changes, and there are technically several subspecies. The primary species resembles smooth blue-gray skinned aquatic dinosaurs. (Look up plesiosaur on google, they look like that) Homminee is essentially a giant swamp, and their ships are often filled with water. They are a peace loving, but don't get them mad, because when they get outraged, they might overreact a bit. They also have a strong sense of morality, and often get a little too involved in other people's business trying to help.

Intentions-The Hommineans have very advanced technology, and much of that is focused around defending themselves from people who have tried to steal it. They attempt to unify the galaxy, and destroy those who cause wonton destruction. Their ships receive a 40 percent defense against NPCs.

Ships-Homminean ships have reasonable plasma based weapons. They don't have epic guns, but they are advanced and exotic. (Matter converters, anti-matter transmuters, dimensional rift stuff, etc. etc.) Their defenses are really good, and their shields are very effective. Their ships resemble large curved sleek structures with an occaisional fin or two. Their ship interiors are actually filled with water, and have an entire ecosystem inside of their ships. The center has a large swamp where the crews relax and swim around. Their ships range from scouts to giant dreadnoughts, or even the occasional battlestation. Their flagship is the Basilisk, a giant mobile battlestation, that even the most powerful ships have often never survived attacking.

Rewards-Some good weapons, awesome defenses/shields, and some energy recharge bonuses

I like them. Does anybody else like them?

P.S I finally found other people who appreciate the Daleks!
