Figured as much. I know a +2k guy in our legion only sees dreads. Sub 1400 I only saw phantoms. Have yet to see anything at 1400+. I think another guy in our legion (sub 1900) was only seeing phantoms as well. They may be +2000 rank.

I'll be 1400 here shortly so I'll let you know if I find any to narrow the gap.

I am ranked 1948 and only see phantoms, so that narrows it down a bit.. I was a bit disheartened about it too, as I now find npcing this year useless.

Banes seem harder to find this year IMO. Worse than darmos drones so far. :P

The dreads must show up at 2000+ then.

I do not think that is right.
First Bane this season I encountered was a Dread, when I was rank 945.
Had like 40k Defense or something like that.
Dropped a Trick.

Do you have proof ?
I have killed many of NPCs and only got Phantoms.

No proof.
It was the first bane NPC I encountered this time around, so I did not even think about getting a screen-shot.
Thought to myself, wow, this guy is a beast, even after using all 4 standard debuffs.
After that, I have found 4 Reavers, which were a helluva lot "easier" to disable.

Sounds like it's highly likely to have been a Phantom, not a Dread.

interesting that the bane psybeacon comes with 3 charges. allowing upgrade to mk 4! but if the first upgrade costs 4 greens it looks like its going to be a very hungry planet structure :P

if you can see Reavers, what you found was a phantom

they have around 40K defence around rank 1000...

belive me, if I could find Dreads I would have found a few of them by now
was dooing the Exodrone hunt, so killed atleast 35+ phantoms

The name said Bane Dread though.
At first I thought it said Bane Dead and I did a slight chuckle, when I realized it was Dread, not Dead.

Believe me, if it was a Phantom, then I would never of said anything on this thread.
(Are not Phantoms Rank 1000+?)

Found a Phantom at Rank 947.
It had 168k hull.
The Dread I encountered had around 220k hull.
