i have found a lot of planets with research. all but one is at least rich. in fact 5 of my 6 planets are rich in some way or another. is a lot of research pretty common? i should mention that my smallest planet is large and my only mining planet. i have 1 large 2 very large 1 massive and 2 very massive. what should i look for as i scan. i was excited when i had rich planets and passed on 20 planets before i started getting all rich ones, now im not sure if i was as lucky as i thought...thanks

Gas planets are easy to come by, but from the way I see, rich gases are uncommon. Also, it is very difficult to find rich mining planets. (I think) Depends on your level and which you need (mining/artifact/research) Rich is generally good stats for me by the way, though prefer very rich and extremely rich

The planets that are worth keeping are all up to you, personally I like to have most of mine research because things start to require 90000 of it, then artifact and only a few mining.
As for which are best you want to get the largest planets with the highest productivity
As for are you lucky, lucky no but do you have some pretty good planets? Yes, yes you do.

Although I have updated the planet seeder (the magical thing that adds new planets to the galaxy) to put in more rich volcanics of various sizes Research is generally more abundant because the game is very difficult without decent amounts of it.

Wow I must be one of the unluckiest galactic overlords out there.... I have performed 220 scans (I'll boost scanning to 60% - 80% and go til its down to 15%.) I've found 58 planets, and only 3 of them have resources that are rich or better. I've been figuring anything above average worth colonizing.
