I understand WHY you have to spend GP to abandon a planet... but what i don't understand is WHY after we BUY the GP and spend it to ABANDON a planet do we have to wait 12 hours to do it again.. if it was free to abandon then ok fine.... but when we have to spend GP to abandon it.. we shouldn't have to wait at all in my opinion

i just thought of something... one of the tactics i used in another space game is to use scorched earth. whenever i was running thin on colonizers and my fleet was thinning out or facing massive resistance, i would destroy the planet instead of trying to colonize. where im going with this is players that purchase GP can attack any colony they like, then scrap it once they finish invading. this could devastate the economy of alot of players who exist in that players scan radius. especially if that player also purchases flux... not saying this tactic shouldnt be used, but that is just one of the reasons i think this should be controlled.

i disagree.. the scanning for planets is just a random chance in finding one that belongs to you... we are not spaced NEXT to each other so i have to attack certain people first..

And the point of GP is 1) to help support the game 2) if people are willing to spend money they get the advantage of the GP stuff 3) the tactic you described is just a risk... i mean you can't destroy any planets in this game like you said you would do... so the planet is still there... but if you can ONLY abandon a planet by having GP then why is there a time limit of 1 per 12 hours... i just want to dump some crappy planets from my newbie phase and colonize some others

i believe its there so that people cant just switch between planets that help them in their current situation. AKA really low on research so you go all out research, then go all out minerals, then go all out artifacts.

Yes, although the cooldown could possibly be reduced, I want colony choice to be strategic. A large legion can likely see many shares per day. Without a cooldown a single player could dominate all the decent shares that get thrown around without having to plan or worry.

In addition, the act of colonizing or conquering a shared planet puts it in your scan range forever.
