A leader of yours, named Mudbug, stole a planet from one of mine.

On the one hand, I say Kudos unto Mudbug as tis a war game.

On the other hand, I respectfully want said planet back for my member. He is trying to get it back now I understand.

Can we come to terms such as a ransom or must the terms be fist on fist to see who walks away victorious

Please advise when you can, be it via pm or here :)

regards,
Fear

Can we get a few more details. I in no way speak for our leaders, but it's good to get a bit of background.

I have been made aware of this topic, and shall let Mudbug know.

However, personally i favour the theory of the onus is on the owner to protect his own planets, but there is always room for negotiation, once information is known.

Did he have sufficient defences on this planet? Was the planet taken and fluxed? Has he spoken to Mudbug about it personally, or did he simply ask you to intervene?

Why is it not him that is writing to us?

Are you threatening war with our entire legion, or are you simply asking for it back before your legion rallies to attack the planet?

You mention coming to terms and a possible ransom. You are therefore willing to bargain a price for the return of the planet, including the equivelent of the GP needed to abandon?

In the spirit of openmindedness and massive profit.

lol i like the massive profit part. You understand how to start negotiations off from your end as possessor.

I am a leader of my legion and I often handle the diplomatic end as well as occasionally the undiplomatic end. Hence why its me.

The planet in question i will double check - cole hasnt requested assistance in the takeback yet - he simply let the crew know of the issue and advised mudbug was too strong for most of our crew to handle. Your colleague has turned it into something of a fort i believe.

I am not per se threatening war against your legion. :) That said, this fellow is either one of your leaders or the leader depending on how your legion does it, from appearances. So it is reasonable on our end to figure this may blow into a legion v legion deal. I hope not - thats part of why i'm doing this, but it figures into my calculations that it might. No offense, but you're looking at a fellow who was stubborn enough to go at it with KoNR's crew as well as one or two other legions that were higher ranked. So if it comes to it, war is a pain in the posterior that is better than being screwed over on a one to one basis in my mind. Note bene, crew that guards a planet is by definition a target until no longer guarding, regardless of any war status.

Negotiations are always good. In terms of the gp equivalent to abandon, it depends on what your colleague can and will do to restore the planet. As far as I know he didnt destroy any particularly valuable/irreplaceable structures so we have a chance to figure this out.

Incidentally Golgotha, while I tend to agree with you re holding one's own, that stance publicly applied as the ultimate may not be the formal approach you want to take lest you find out a number of the players here have scans of yours and the ability to take em. LOL i don't just pointing out others might who could rely on your words.
