Mission Briefing
During select galactic cycles, members of the notorious Hallows Bane come out of hiding, terrorizing unsuspecting victims. Ships are asked to find them, and put an end to their activities.
During the Hallows Bane Event in 2015, the following temporary effects apply to the entire Galaxy:
* Invasions and colonizations will cost 20% less in credits. * Successful invasions will sometimes trigger the 'Bane Coercion' event on the planet. * Players of Rank 200+ will sometimes find 'Psyshade Inducer' artifacts during planetary scans.

Mission Dialogue
A group of <Your_race> extremists have defected and joined forces with the Hallows Bane. We believe the Bane may be using some kind of device to influence various factions within the government.
Their tactics are evolving.
What makes you think the Hallows Bane are using a device?
Most of the ships that were affected reported approaching and engaging an oddly shaped sphere of Bane origin. We're sure that they are the culprit.
What do we know about them so far?
Not much. Its broadcasting signal is very complex. Try to find and capture as many as you can - we need to develop a countermeasure.
Can the signals be detected and tracked?
Only at close range. The Hallows Bane appear to be careful when placing them.
I imagine that our ship will also be susceptible to their influence?
That is a risk, yes... but we cannot wait... and I don't see any other alternative.
End Transmission
NOTE: "A nearby Psybeacon targets your ship...You fall under its control..." During this mission, your ship may come under the control of the bane, resulting in a Psybeacon Control effect, which decreases your npc attack by 40% for 30 minutes. This effect can not be removed by a Containment Cage.
