So here I am, very noobish and lvl11, and reading forums and learning all I can. You guys are great on answers, so heres one that has fully confused me. After playing a bit and using what energy I have and getting all my ship board equip in order, such as weaps, relays, sensors, etc., I leave for a bit to let it sit and recharge. Hull and shield are full, just no energy. I come back 20 minutes later, and now, I have almost no hull, no shields and thinking I got attacked. Looking at the home tab, shows nothing of the kind, but says I have a reward to claim, and that I aquired a Tri-Matrix Emblem Artifact. I see it and go to cargo, and its also in my artifacts portion. Looks cool, but still doesnt explain why my ship was partially blown a bit or where I even got it from. I look also in my ships controls, if you want to call it that under energy and I have a new device there installed also.... that I didnt install. An Omicron Injector. Nice! Special item, thats giving me +10 energy with no space use. Couldnt be further from awesomeness (at my noob level anyways). I rechecked also through the missions to see if those were part of the rewards maybe I missed, but no.

What I want to know is tho, where did all this come from? It just appeared O.O Im.. happy about it, but ahh yeaa strange days in my favor. Is this a glitch in the game?? Ive never had a good glitch.

Now for the rest of all that. lol First off yes you where attacked if you left with full hull and shield. It will not telly you that you where unless the other player disables you, uses an artifact on you, or hacks/raids you. So don't worry about not knowing who it was. Also about the claim reward thing. You get one of those a day. You can get creds, research points, rank points, Galaxy points, energy cubes, or the tri-matrix you got form it. Just in case you don't know what that does let me tell you. The tri-matrix refills your energy, hull, and shield to full. So it is really nice. Hope this helps answer the rest of your questions.

I should have titled this stupid questions, and maybe the answer is in the swath of answers in other threads, but so far, I havent found it... If youre guarding a planet, how do you unguard it, if you want to change planets, or just simply not guard it any more? Also, in battle, if youre on the list of targets, while guarding, will your planet also come up and be known to your enemy?

You can's stop guarding a world unless some one disables you. You will keep guarding however if you want to guard another world just click on it and hit the guard planets button. Just like you did to guard the one you are guarding now. Also no if someone see's you on the battle tab and you are guarding a world they can not see the world you are guarding.

You're right there is tons of knowledge available here and many, many knowledgeable people who are more than happy to help out the "new guy." So if you have a question, get confused, or just need general game advice, this is a great place to get it. Also, you will want to consider joining a legion. They can be great sources of information also, in addition to other benefits.

As far as joining a legion, Yes you should. Also you want a legion that has many players near your own level, should also have at least 40 active players in it

I joined an legion day 2 of being here. I got a notice I was attacked and joined my attackers legion lol, but so far, Ive seen little activeness from them. I admit, Im not extremely active, but I do come daily. Im already hooked on this game. Now if they can make my energy move faster! lols. Yes, I have a couple of relays set up, but a few seconds at a time isnt fast enough lol when you get to addiction level Ive played games like Kingdoms of Camelot, which is similar, and theres some fanatics on that game, so, good to see a game that beats KoC and keeps my attentions. Seems like a bunch of good players and people on here too.

Alright, so the other thing I first asked on was explained, and thanks guys, but Ive been watching my equipment while playing the past few days and again strange happenings. Maybe someone can explain. I finally found the thread that talks about how when you equip and unequip and reequip again, how it degrades your equipment on the ship.
Explains why I had to keep fixing things while I shift things around in between missions, but now Ive noticed, that my mining and ore I get... Well, sometimes it adds itself to my cargo. Sometimes it sells itself. So far Im trying to allow it to build all the way up, but whenever I go to look day to day, I have a sudden amount of mined goods, I never clicked to take. I had to buy some in addition for a mission, and then it was gone. Im not even sure if I got the credits for it if it sold. It seems like a glitch, Im not sure. Sooo weird to me, and Im certain Im not being hacked, to be messed with. lol It is odd tho.
