I never used mine. Barren planets are worthless and even with a +1 add they are mediocre at best, certainly not worth a planet slot. Has anyone else skipped using them?

I didn't even bother doing the mission to get them.

I had only one barren planet that it was worth using on. I have the rest of them waiting for the barren planet I find that is worthwhile.

I didn't even do the mission; the reward wasn't worth it and I could still do the following missions. Someday I might, 'cause someday I might be able to get Colossals from them, but that wouldn't be for quite a while. Considering the best Barren planets are Very Large and Rich (I think), that's not that useful.

I only completed the mission once to see the artifact and never used it.
As Kaos says, most barrens are junk even with the shifter and you should save your top five for sentiox.
I'm actually pretty annoyed with the whole thing because the top two barrens on my scans got turned to oceans before I could snap them up. Now I'm holding the next best just so someone doesn't turn them.
I was so happy to find out the Octafari were really a bunch of jerks because I already hated them.

Yes, very large/rich mining is the best barren I have seen. I have the sentiox too which gives +2 resources, but for a mining planet .. can't compete with a toxic. I didn't do the mission either. I will prolly end up converting them just to use it but the best hydro barren, Massive/Very Rich, basically equals the best natural Volcanic I saw, Very Large/Extremely Rich.

I used 1 and have 2 more left in my hold. That's where I stopped doing the mission. I thought it was odd that we got an artifact with a bonus on oceanic planet AND then a mission that gives oceanic planets. Seems like the other way around would have made more sense.

I still have all 10 Hydroshifters, that said I haven't used any of the planet improving artis you get from missions. I always think i'll find something better to use them on.

I joined GL around the time of that mission, I would find it useful to make mine a Massive/Very Rich, my cap for planets is Large+/Rich+ so it works for me
