Good evening all!

I was just wondering if anyone had an idea yet as to the difficulty and awards for this NPC vehicle yet. I have yet to see any legion posts if it is a multi-player NPC.

If no one knows yet, I should find out about Sunday, and maybe by Monday know if it is worth trying to do even once...

Thanks for reading!

Um, you can't observe preemptive countermeasures. It's not tactical, just blow it on your best planet for weeks on end. Pretend you weren't already saved.

The answer is here.

After seeing the reward, I think I might just skip doing it.

If it had a flux effect, the NPC would be worth killing.

This is WORTHLESS, IMO.

Well, folks were wanting to be able to protect their planets while away on vacation (basically asking for SfC's vacation mode for their ships and planets)... they could use these artifacts while away for their first week on their best planets, without losing a chance that their other planets could get taken...

Though I think, to be more effective, it probably have a Defense bonus as well, like that starting artifact, or it could Flux it for that week, though maybe as a downside (since you will be afk for a week anyway) the planet does not produce anything during the effects of this artifact...

Then again, maybe Dan is going to change the game shortly and we will all be wishing we had ten of these... heh.

As for their being worthless if your opponent already knows the planet is there... well, maybe you should use a Flux Probe on the planet first. If anyone else knows it is there, Flux it, then use this artifact...

Thanks for reading!

[edit] I personally do not need this artifact at this time though and may try for it later when it is a mission arc... in the meantime I will just write off the points spent on the first mission and move on to missions that help me out a bit more in the here and now.

It's worth mentioning that while the item reward for this isn't as enticing as some of the other limited-time quests, the Exp to Energy ratio is quite good.

Fun for higher ranked players who want to boost through a whole level off of just a neural interface and an energy cube.

Not that I recomend anyone else do this.

pfffffft you whiners you, back in my day we were lucky if a mission had a higher energy/XP ratio then 1.2 let alone a reward beyond XP. So not every last mission reward is incredibly awesome boofrigginhoo, its a mission worth doing if you need a good XP return and the reward is useful its just not incredible. And actually Kam seeing as the average planet has less then 100 cloak (my estimate atleast) im going to bet that 600 is going to make it much much much harder to find.

It means a lot.. 600 cloak can be boosted to 1,200 with 100% legion.. On top of any existing cloaks, It can easily hit 3-4k cloak. Plus with recent change to cloak vs scan to produce some % chance.. 3k scan against 2k cloak doesn't mean 100% guaranteed find anymore..

600 cloak is nice item especially for vacation. I would suggest to extend it to 2 to 4 weeks instead then it would be hot item for anyone who need to be on extended vacation.. I have 2.3k cloak on my best planet without that item unguarded or 4.4k guarded.. I certainly would use that on that best planet and several other powerful planets when I'm on 2-3 weeks vacation as insurance.

But I would simply demolish any resource structures and convert all to cloak structures on all valuable planets then I can go on extended vacation anyway heh. Cuz resource structures will mean NOTHING if maxed out in one day or two anyway.

The biggest problem with this mission as foar as I can see is the energy requirement within the time that it will exist.

At 1250 energy per round it will take almost 2 days of energy production to aquire the energy to do the mission and battle the shroud base.

The upside will be the level I will gain each round.

I will need to balance the value of the artifact to the tier rewards I could get by finishing off several missions that need a similar energy tarriffs.

Ah there is mister happy... good evening! I know, I know... back in your day, you travelled the galaxy in horses and buggies and you could buy an entire Kurenite mine for a nickel...

Just to be clear, I am not whining about the prize... I am just not going to put all my energy into doing this mission like I usually do because 1) I will not be able to complete it fully in the time limit and 2) the prize is not something worth scrambling to get as many as possible.

Instead I can do missions with a better energy:reward ratio, and take brakes from that to blast the occasional enemy/NPC...

When you "spawn" one they are added to your list regardless of how many npcs you have. After that they do count towards your normal limit.
