 New Mission idea to Upgrade Current Weapons

I had an idea today thinking that we keep adding more weapons to our ships and wondered how long this could keep going on.

Sure I like the idea of installing new weapons just like everyone else and would continue to do so but why not be able to upgrade our current weapons that we make or have ?
I was thinking that it would be cool to do a mission that would add 100 attack to each Heavy Quasi-Chaotic Blaster that would give us an option to change the color too. I personally would like to make mine blue but whatever.

I think it's a good idea for us to add attack to our ships to fight the bases and players and would also benefit Dan by having us only be able to do the mission by changing to the Konqul race because they are aggressive and add attack to their race anyways.
After we get the mission done , we can upgrade our weapons and then switch back to whatever race we want to afterwards.

By the way , I'm not currently Konqul so I will have to pay the 20 gp's to gain the attack bonus on the weapons and then switch back to Taltherian.

I know that not many can make the Heavy Quasi's so I was thinking it could be a high rank mission but it would benefit everyone if Dan made a mission for everyone that would add " x " attack to each weapon.

It's very hard trying to disable rank 700 +'s and takes a lot of energy and nulls to do it. As we all know by now it's very hard to take on a base and I am glad that Dan made the idea with the " Tetra-Seek Targeter
[ Special Module - Size:20, Scan:40, Base Attack:+5% ] " that helps a lot with bases and scanning.

If this was implemented in the game , it would make it more exciting to see our new weapons and customized colors of them plus enjoy the added attack to our ship.
And Dan you know what the the benefit would be on your end too lol .. ;)

Personally, my idea for upgrading weapons is that we could upgrade them in different ways, and they change color to match.

For example, you could have EMP laced ammo, which deals bonus damage to shields.

I like this idea BUT the only problem I see with this is that alot of people atm are unemployed therefore can't afford to buy GP's, me being one of those people, now if there was also another mission that would give u a chance to change race I would totally go for this idea! Yes I know There was a mission for the Glavix devices but i'm sure most higher rank players have gone though those some time ago.

2 of the drops there (highlighted in red) need "modifying" with artifacts - something that could be applied to current mission and researched modules:

Use crimson obelisks/ancient crystal foci to upgrade attack modules
Use grid consoles to upgrade thrusters
Use probes and subspace seekers to upgrade scan modules
etc.

Good idea! Anything that makes Konqul more interesting the better! :) I'm die-hard Konqul myself..

Another idea.. It pains to me to see that other new races with abilities such as boosting artifact, research or mining permanently every 40 hours just staying in that race long enuf.. I would love to see that Konqul could benefit from using 40-hour ability to boost their attack might. Longer you stay in Konqul race, stronger you get in attack power. I would love to enjoy that extra ability by staying true to Konqul race! :) Same true for defensive race, energy race, etc all using 40-hour abilities..

Good point .. I went through mine a long time ago but Dan could make another device and still be able to make more money with the energy we'd have to use in the mission ..
We have to give Dan the incentive to add it to the game too lol

This doesn't necessarily have to be strictly for attack.

Why not be able to do a mission to permanently increase our defense , hull etc .. that we built ?

Maybe one mission for attack , one for defense and one for hull and when we're done with each one we could customize the color of them since we're the only ones looking at it anyways.

Why not give us a mission that gives us more of the crew + attack instead? that effectily gives us +X attack too all weapons.

this would be especially nice for sillix, as people would no longer become dependent on the bonus

More then likely no because we already have artifacts that do that.
rescued prisoners add 3 crew, ship bots at 2 decks, duratanium brackets add hull, xcharge cells add shield, etc. etc.
Another problem, what if it effects the weapons individually instead of weapons as a hull i.e. only equipped weapons and you sell those weapons?

FWIW, there is sort of one of these now, the Taltherian Def-Opt. It gives you 1 helmsmen for ever defense/shield module installed. You can do it 6 times and I believe maxed out is currently 57 so doing this mission 6 times gives you +321 defense. Not bad since it doesn't increase upkeep or take up deck space.

Yes, you've probably done it already but there might be people who haven't.

If you go up an read what I had said , I mentioned that it could be done for weapons that we're done researching like I am now.
If Dan made this mission it would be for higher ranks that completed the tech tree. It would be like a prize for finishing it to the end.

Looking at the new mission " A Station Adrift " , the new glowing of the artifact could be something like that on the Heavy Quasi - Chaotic weapons ...
then again I mentioned that it would also be cool to be able to customize the tint of the weapons.

This idea could go a million different directions into hull and defense modules or give Dan an idea for something new entirely.
It is kind of anti climatic to finish researching the last thing in the game with no real extra to it is all I'm saying.
I'm just giving an idea of what it could possibly be ..

The Konqul mission fits perfect for the attack / weapons ...
not sure about the Defense or Hull or anything else ...

we'll see where this goes ... hope to see something like it in the future though 8-)
