So, I have a planet that I just finished investing 3 billion credits in defending (population structures, 10 obviator barriers, cloak, etc...), and it suddenly occurred to me that anyone with all 20 cluster missiles could probably steal it fairly easily -- if they were lucky enough to get it at some point that I'm not online (currently 0 other ships have scanned it, but I know that can easily change).

Anyway, I'm just wondering how likely that is, and if anyone else has had something that extreme happen?

I'd think it would have to be one damn amazing planet for someone to want to spend so many crimson cluster missiles. Is it?

Well.... it isn't a Dyson or Exotic -- just the largest possible planet in the game (a melted icy). It isn't very rich yet (not hit enough terraformers), but I'm wondering about when/if it becomes a 15x mega rich/mega colossal...

I'd take it just because your legion logo is so similar to ours and that really annoys me.

That aside though - sure, someone -could- do that. But would they?

1) Cluster Missiles are rare, and someone who could take your planet and who has 20 cluster missiles probably knows that they are rare and using them all in one go isn't a good idea.

2) Almost nobody has 20 cluster missiles. Low level folks haven't finished the mission, high level folks have used a few. (yes, go ahead, post if you have 20. You're the exception to the rule).

3) You can't create a world that can't be taken anyway. If any of the top ten legions finds that world, they will undoubtedly alert it to their legion and between people beating it down and using their invade attempts on it, it WILL be taken. And maybe without a single cluster missile being fired.

The sum of it all is, don't worry about the unlikely chance someone will do that to you. Worry about a big legion finding it. And, if someone DOES do that to you, at least take comfort in the fact you cost them WAY more than the planet is worth.

Yeah, I've been thinking of changing our logo because of that...
Glad to know that aside from a mass attack it should be fairly safe though.

Kill Lazuli Fabrication plants and slap their bonuses onto it too - I have a similar world that's currently at 11k cloak - very low chance that anyone will find it short of a crit hack. Artifact structures also can't be saboteured or missiled, so if you put those on as defenses, the planet will be much harder to crack.

If you're offline and a big legion finds your planet, they *will* get it eventually (look at Exotica!), but you can do a lot to minimize their chances of finding and taking it.

also with enough time, a legion with 10 or so sabs in it will wreck and do basically the same thing, just slightly more energy usage

Here's my story, I took a nice planet from someone. he got mad and demanded his planet back, after like 3 days of failed attempt's I decide to flux it, but then he stopped for 3 days so I saved it for anther planet, but lucky I was on and it was very late was thinking of going to bed, next thing I know he fires 11 crimson cluster missiles along with debuffs taking out all my att. def. along with pop structures and lucky I was on but still he failed at the 90% just away for like 5 minutes. So its a rare chance that someone will blow a crap ton of CC-missiles unless its worth the effort. but all in all your gonna want o flux prob your best planets at least once a week and set traps if you can.
