I'm a heavy PvPer, was slow ranking but planning to add a bit more energy now that I'm getting in the range of more elites.

So here is my current plan:
1. Finish Singularity Launchers
2. Get Q-Phased plating.
3. Get Microwarp Nacelles
4. Get Singularity Cores (yes, I know, it's a bit of a jump, but with the sharp increase in upkeep I need to hit rank 85 ASAP)
5. Get +5 structures
6. Get Sub-Dimensional Scanners
7. Get AI logistics

My other stats:

Size Class: Heavy Cruiser
Space: 317 / 319
Attack: 869
Defense: 188
Hull: 1636
Shield: 45
Scan: 6
Cloak: 5
Cargo: 127 / 140
Upkeep: 4M
Konqul: Attack +20%
Fixer: Hull +30%

Battles: 4581 (Champion)
Player Kills: 694 (Insane)
Deaths from Players: 60
Non-Player Kills: 26
Planets Found: 110
Planets Occupied: 14
Planets Captured: 5
Missions Completed: 128
Scans Performed: 163
Successful Hacks: 29
Successful Raids: 22

And build:
Weapons Heavy Quantum Devastator x3, Dominion Cannon x4
Energy Quantum Capacitor - Mark IV x2, Omicron Injector
Sensors AI Supercomputer
Hull Merged Nanosphere Plating x4
Shields Harmonic Resonator
Cloaking none
Defenses Inertial Canceler - Mark III

Singularity Launchers at 60 are unrealistic honestly. Have fun.

I would say Stick with Heavy Quantums. Those heavy sing launchers cost about 4x as much as heavy quantums (and will take 363 hours to research at your rate) for only an extra ... 29 atk per gun. Sticking with the quantums will let you easily buy and sell for planetary invasions and such without having to worry about seriously eroding your CR.

I would start with researching cores. More energy = more killing. You'll also want to try to get up to rank 100 ASAP so that you can equip those mk3 dominions. Four of them can contribute a whopping 600 atk (which is around the power of 3 heavy sing launchers) for only a measly 68 space. Before you get up to rank 100, however, it may cost more energy to disable people (but you WILL be able to do it with big hulls), so go as quickly as you can.

You also need better research production. 441rph is not going to cut it if you're already this far down the tree. After investing in those cores, you should be able to level pretty quickly, giving you space for more planets. Considering your budget limitations, I would say invest in scanners rather than buildings. A single lvl 5 building will cost around 25mil to construct. Multiply that by how many you need for each planet and how many planets you have, and that 331mil will vanish pretty quickly.

So here's the summary:
1. Finish the Antimatter reactors.
2. If you already have enough good research planets, to get you up around 800rph, finish Q-Phased platings, then Sub-Dimensionals. If not, finish Sub-Dimensionals, then Q-Phased.
3. Finish Sing cores.
4. Keep researching hulls and be sure to equip 5 at all times. Don't bother with Narcelles; if you have enough hulls, it can take some1 else ages to kill you with just the damage cap.
5. Once you have enough money, upgrade to the +5 structures.

Funding isn't an issue. I have a couple of friends who have promised to help. And heavy sing launchers are more than +29 attack...

207-168=39
39*1.2=46(.8) {konqul}
46.8*3=140(.4) {3 guns}

So yeah, it all adds up.

On the other hand, my reason for getting singularity launchers was to drop a gun without losing too much attack.

I'll take your advice and skip microwarp nacelles and try and get singularity cores.
Thunderbolta from my legion has also promised my a vm/rich research planet to boost my RP gain by 100 or so.

By the way, my damage cap is huge, and even if I have a huge amount of hull then 38 defense wont be very effective at dampening that...

sounds like a good idea,
good luck with sing launchers though, it's that tier where weapons start getting expensive and take up space.

Um, they most certainly are NOT unrealistic. Over half of AU had Heavy Sings by rank 60... and defense to boot.

A random player [not necessarily current] I asked to submit info as proof. Notice of course that they sacrificed cloak and energy, but the desire was for guns and defense. As I have said in countless other posts, it all comes down to what you want from the game. Personally, I think going with zero energy cores is nuts, but this person's desire was for a solid pvp ship.

Level 5 buildings are miserable, and AI Logistics isn't particularly worth it except as a stepping stone to the next level beyond it. I would say go to level 6 buildings.

I'm doing the opposite.
+5s are a nice jump. +6s aren't worth getting at all. Jump straight to +8s (what I'm doing once I get my hull and weapons up to par)

AU ships always have had tech beyond their rank, and will be doing so in the future. I'm pretty sure that rank 61 (Yes I know who is he, he's one of our star members :D) will be crazier than this average 142 we have here. It will be entirely possible for strmavenger to achieve his goals, especially with financial support.

Very nice ship Strm Avenger!
Like KingJuggernaut said, it all depends on what you want to get out of the game. Personally, I HATE being disabled, as it greatly effect my kill ratio. Therefore, if I were you I would focus on putting up some more defense mods so you do not get disabled as much in retaliations.

Go for structures first. Investing in the future is the way to go :)
