If ships can do it then why can't base? Less hassle on Dan in the long run. For example, if I want the special space badly for new item such as Universal Service Terminal. I could remove base comm interlink that we don't need til level 8 (more space) to re-install it back in. But problem is that only choice I have is to SELL the comm interlink for TINY 25k credit considering that it cost WHOPPING 80 GL to buy.. Right now, only way to do that is to BOTHER Dan to get 80 GL refunded just to remove the interlink temporarily just to re-purchase it back when level 8 is reached.. That is not a good method in the long run at all so why not add uninstall feature in place to avoid hassle in the long run?

Thanks.

I agree with you. I would also go for Size 0 for purchasable base items which has almost the same effect.

+1 for uninstallable base mods. Cargo space or something.

I do like this idea base storage would be good to have with it but that's a different subject.

This could be incorporated into a base module everyone seems to be asking for:
Base Warehouse:
Size: 4 special?

The warehouse is upgradable, up to level 8, just like the base itself. Each level has higher requirements, in energy, CTP and MSPs. Also, it can only be upgraded to the current base level. Each member may only make one withdrawal every hour (this can be a whole stack and is to save it being "free cargo").
Here's how the levels can work:

Effects:
Lvl1: Personal Storage - allows each member to store a limited amount of artifacts here.
Lvl2: General Storage - allows the legion as a whole to deposit a limited amount of artifacts, which anyone can access.
Lvl3: Secure Vault - Anyone may deposit into here, but they need an officer/leader's permission to withdraw.
Lvl4: Large Module Storage - Allows a limited "size" of base modules to be stored.
Lvl5: Honours Collection - Once a day, each member can deposit one red badge. These deposited badges are used in preference for base scanning (as opposed to the scanner paying the full fee).
Lvl6: Capacitor Bank - allows members to "charge" a private capacitor, which they may draw upon whenever it's needed. they only get back 10% of what they put in though (so to put 100 energy into the bank, you need to deposit 1000 energy).
Lvl7: Ship storage - members can store a limited space of uninstalled modules here - they won't pay upkeep on them.
Lvl8: AI Brain - members can store research points here, but only 1% of them will transfer. (so for every 1000 you deposit, 10 are added). Any member, with an officer/leader's permission, can withdraw a limited number of research points from the Brain each day.

Space
Personal Storage: lvl1, 100. lvl2, 300. lvl3 600. lvl4 1000. lvl5 1500. lvl6 2100. lvl7 2800. lvl8 3600
General Storage: lvl2, 1000. lvl3, 3000. lvl4, 6000. lvl5, 10000. lvl6, 21000. lvl7, 2800. lvl8, 3600
Vault: lvl3, 100. lvl4, 300. lvl5, 600. lvl6, 1000. lvl7, 1500
Large Module: lvl4, 5 space. lvl5, 10 space. lvl6, 15 space. lvl7, 20 space. lvl8, 30 space
Honours: lvl5, 5 badges. lvl6, 15 badges. lvl7, 30 badges. lvl8, 50 badges
Capacitor: lvl6, 1000 energy. lvl7, 4000 energy. lvl8, 10000 energy.
Ship: lvl7, 100 space. lvl8, 500 space
Brain: 1,000,000 RP can be stored at a time. Each member can withdraw up to 10K RP a day.

Also, once a day/week, a random rare artifact or a load of credits is awarded to a legion member. The reward scales with warehouse level, so a lvl 2 warehouse may give a stryll pathogen, whicle a level 8 may give something like a flux, terraformer, extender, etc. The reward distribution options will be either "even distribution" or "warehouse contribution" based.

Would this be a solution?

To make it fair, the modules should degrade like ship modules and be repaired every so often. Same method.
