 Too much minerals -> Build your own Ship

Good day community.

I saw the thread about complaining about too much minerals so I thought about using those to build a ship after finding some blue prints of a ship
and get only minor or no real bonus.

Stats and moduls will be recycled and you have the chance of use your skill points new. Some ships will have a little bonus on mining because the blue print will say like "Thats a Mark I Mining Ship. Not strong but it will hold its cargo inside." and giving this ship a Cargo bonus of 5 or some for mining 1% better or providing the ship with 3 pre-used skill points. Like a Science-Ship has a +1 on Scientists.

The idea is to create a new option of using those minerals which are too much for the player and giving him/her the opportunity to build his own ship and only giving him if necessary a little bonus (It doesnt have to be).


Hope this Suggestion of using minerals has some good points. Constructive criticism is always welcomed.

The idea of building smaller ships has been discussed before, but...

-1 to this idea

Nobody has too many minerals. If they do, they're aren't at the top and should be happy to save some. The higher you rank, the more it takes to get planets. It can easily take upwards of 20,Billion credits to colonize an unoccupied planet, more if it's an invasion. Then tack on modules, repairing, planet buildings, etc.

I think if there are going to be smaller ships, it shouldn't be with credits because then you'll get 1 of 3 things:

1. Player creates a ship and it becomes relatively decent, then later on the bills catch up and the person drowns or close to it

2. Player needs the money and has no way of creating any sort of effective ship, they will then be unhappy

3. Player spends a crap ton of real money to build the ship


While the 3rd is good for Dan (under the assumption that people would even want to), it's going to make a lot of people unhappy in the long run. Plenty of people don't have money worries, but another ship, it would just be a money sink. It would have to give more bonus or equal bonus to what planets do otherwise there is no point. And if it is as much (give or take) as what planets are, then it will have to take the same amount of money, which is just more of a money sink.


Not sure if that all made sense, but bottom line is while credits may not be a "problem" to a lot of people, having another thing which relies solely on minerals with the idea that a person has "too much" minerals is just going to flounder, IMHO.

Yeah. Totally. Too many minerals? You must be below rank 200 or have a poor ship build. Once you install a full bank of heavy null rays and Indra-D colliders Mk4 you'll start to see shp upkeep go up. Planet occupation costs a bomb too at higher ranks.

I've rank 407 and had to push my close to 8000 to keep up with everything.

Or give credits to your legion base. The top base tech costs a lot to build and the upkeep is high too.

I think my problem is that i just startet to play this game. Never thought about those up coming costs would be so high...But what I understand is that this game could not work with my Idea....Sry for this Suggestion....

Not the most useful suggestion but as per the counter arguments...


It's a FEATURE, not a MUST. Anyone who don't want to use it can simply NOT use it. No one will ever force you to use it.

With that said, it would be a rather "just there" kind of thing for most people and therefore ignored for the most part. And so I won't support it.

BUT, there is also no reason to oppose it.

Personally, I will never be against any new feature as long as it does not conflict with any old one, I'm not playing competitively so I don't give a care if some random ppl use cash to make themselves more uber further.
