I'd replace the last column (control) with a net sum of production on the planet.

This way, we can at a glace, go through our list and find under-performing planets and make necessary adjustments.

The control column is almost entirely unnecessary, because the filters pretty much handle the role this has.

I like seeing at a glance if it's enemy owned. And production is effected so heavily by what is on the planet...

You mean besides the fact that there are filters, and also icons on the planets image?

For people who are confused, you could always implement a mouseover for the planet image, that can tell you who owns it.

1) learn to edit posts
2) The control column makes it more noob friendly. How do they know what the symbols mean?

I'd like to assume people aren't completely retarded.

But thats just me.

How much redundancy is actually needed.

I would actually love to see total production values as a sortable value. That would greatly aid me in finding which of my bricked planets I still need to flux :P

For that the production before abundance mods would be more useful.

Some people honestly are thick.

But if I post a bunch of logos from a game you've never played I guess you know what they mean? After all... your not completely retarded...

Anyway, I'd like having the production shown, but not instead of that...

A legend somewhere would easily have the same information at a fraction of the space.

Mouseover on the filters, also tells you what they mean.

There's an old saying... if it ain't broke don't fix it.

And mouse overs don't always work... I didn't know about the shield/energy mouseovers for ages... although the legend would work.

Again, I'd like this, but I don't see why we must eliminate the control bar.

think this is a great idea but agree that we don't need to remove anything. There's probably enough space between the existing columns to move them closer together and add a new one in.

How's this: keep the control column as is for the "all planet" tab
and do resource production rate for the other tab.
this would be harder to code than just replace a column, but i think it will serve the purpose well.

An old, but still relevant picture I mocked up about this;

Image

The extras are:
Legion logo with a ! - Legion alerted planets
Planet with a crown - Planets you owned but have been recently taken from you.
Planet with shield - Planets you have recently conquered or occupied (last 7 days?)

Filter by legion - only shows planets which are owned by the specified legion.
Filter by player - only shows planets owned by the specified player.
Filter by production - returns planets without the specified production structure or higher (so you'd type in 8, for planets that DONT have at least 1 +* or better structure)

This raises a very interesting point. Why do all the tabs have to be the same? You could put all sorts of fun information in the tabs if they were different.

Such as: Attack/Defense/Pop for enemy occupied planets, production values for your planets... etc.

Codewise, it is actually pretty simple to implement, depending on existing code. The logic for it is extremely simple anyways.
