My scan showed up, and my colonize button is green and plenty of credits, but it always says this planet can not be colonized. it is not owned by anyone...any help?

I have searched Wiki and forums to no avail.

Thanks,

must be a mission exotic that someone made but then quit the game.....they were made invincible awhile back along with mission dysons. i'd contact Dan and see if he would let you colonize it still i believe those are not able to be abandoned anymore either.

not owned by anyone you say?

then there's exactly 1 reason why you can't colonize it.

you don't have enough planet slots.
you can colonize 1 planet every 4 ranks plus 1. so if you're rank 100, you can have 21 planets.

you must be at your maximum planet number. just rank up a couple times and you'll be able to get that exotic

Huluk was correct. Dan's reply:

It looks like this specific planet is not eligible for colonization. It falls under the 'invincible' planets that normally should not be able to be scanned. I'd be happy to remove it from your scan list if you'd like.

Thanks to all

and by the way, I have played for 6 months, and do know what an open colonization slot is :-)

Odd that you can see it at all. The exotic I have scanned can't be viewed. I guess that's the difference between a colonized one (This planet is completely immune to enemy actions) and one that is not colonized.

only thing i can think is someone did an account reset after obtaining their mission exotic... the planet remains, but loses its owner

LOL to all of you! :-) all I know was my heart skipped a beat when it came up in the scan. I did not tell anyone, and not to those that tried to buy it from me ;-) that it was massive with 15x! with all three resources. and I am older than most of you, so my heart cant stand many of those :-)

Thanks for all the feed back though.

I don't get it... If it is a Mission that got set free by reset or banning and is now uncolonized, why can't the Invincibility tag get removed? Along with the passive boosts. Then it would become just a regular (yet very nice) random planet and be open to scanning and colonizing. The way it is now, it seems that this particular type of planet is now permanently lost from the planet pool...

I had the same thoughts as well. I would be enraged if that came up on my scans.

well at the very least Dan could have dropped the invincibility and passive atk/def/cloak and re-rolled the production rates to make it a natural exotic and left it on the original poster's list...

Its cloak could became no longer working once the owner gone inactive too long (over a week) or other reasons. That should be why you scanned it by lucky but no luck with get it colonized.

However with luck, you can find a good NATURAL exotic or dyson to colonize.

Thanks Deathpit,

but previous posts on here above:

"Dan's reply:

The planet should never have been scan-able, and was just a fluke coming up. someone abandoned it (or the game) some time ago and it got left around.

thanks,
