turn off option for Mission NPC's

I like to do a lot of npc killing, but find it frustrating when a mission is active that I do not currently want to do and mission npc's for that mission keep popping up.

I have currently completed the Decrypting the vault mission a few times, but don't want to spend all the energy right now in doing it any further (as there are other missions I want to do with my energy and npc killing), but the Rogue Data Analyzer's keep flooding my npc slots. I take them out to get them out the way and get a new npc. However have now ended up scrapping loads of the art they drop as it simply wastes space in my cargo.

Would it be possible to have a 'turn off' option for a particular mission that spawns npcs, then turn it on when you want to do it, so that the npc stops spawning?

please
:-)

get better weapons and they'll get easier
and yes I support this idea, I HATED the drannik archivists when that mission was active.

I think my weapons are decent. It's not just about them being easier, but with how often they spawn, they stop other things which could have spawned! Having active mission npc's which you don't want at the time, mean the chances of good npc's (uncommons, rare etc) become even less likely to spawn! :-(

Those Rogue Data analysers are really useful because they're easier to kill than Flamehawks and Assassins. also better XP rewards.

They get easier to kill as you rank up too.

that's why some people love them!!!!!! people rank 350 and above love mission NPCs because they're a fixed rank and lower the spawn rate of flamehawks.

Yep. And when you find 25 assassins on an NPC blitz those occassional Rogue Data Analysers are a blessing. As for the Drannik Archivists, they help to get Gaia seeds.

Just wait till you find Dark Iso-runners. Thankfully they're uncommon but they're probably the hardest unshared NPC. They're matched and have massive defence and hull. Worth killing though. The mission they spawn from gives a planet device for toxic planets. +1 size and +2 mining.

some people may love the mission npc's, however having the option to turn them off still helps. That way people who love them can leave them turned on, even when not doing the missions, and people who find them annoying (like me) when not doing the missions can turn them off!

There is some evidence that having another Common only decreases the rate of other Commons, so it probably isn't a problem in that regard.

Thanks for that, I never knew that. If it is the case, then that is a good thing

you're doing 500 damage per hit to a RDA and hating them?
that's 30 energy spent to gain 200 research points...
30 energy = 15 minutes at 120 energy per hour...
so that's an extra 800 (or more counting energy refills) research per hour

they are quick and easy research points... and much easier to kill than techcollectors, flamehawks, or assassins...
i really don't see why anyone would hate them...

I'm not doing the damage cap on analyzers(though I should be able to soon) and I actually really like them now.......they're one of the things I kill instead of Flamehawks on day I'm only touch and go with NPCs(only killing a dozen or so day)
besides...the research isn't bad at all

The XP is pretty good too. I'm a big fan of RDAs. I have a feeling they can be taken down in 7 hits sometimes. When I use all attack artis - obelisks, foci, shockpulse and crimson amps. It gets my attack way above 7000.

Given the new Assasins I think the RDAs really aren't so bad at all. 15-20 hits and a fair amount of hull damage too plus poor XP on a kill and over 100 kills needed to get something which would boost research production.

Dark Iso-runners. Now they're the ones you'll really complain about. Thankfully they're uncommon.

I do almost pure NPC and in the last week or two I've made a 16x v.large toxic faster than I've got Iso-runners to turn it into an irradiated planet.

They're evil ships. I save sabateurs to use on them.

Still, there's nothing like seeing a few irradiated planets when I check my planets and sort by resource. 2 17x massive and an 18x massive irradiated so far. 2 toxics waiting for the treatment. Totally need it too. NPC hunting is expensive!
