Ok, so I have 2 ideas.
First is a race-specific mission chain that allows the discovery of that race's homeworld. Once discovered it could act as a hub where everyone who has discovered it gets the same output from it. It would have to have pre-set buildings on it and be immune to artifacts as well as having an insane attack and defence. If say the mining output was 100 per hour, then everyone who has discovered it gets plus 100 minerals per hour. However if you change races you would have to rediscover the homeworld; redo the mission for your new race, and the other homeworld would be off your scans.
BUT, you could also discover a homeworld through base scanning, and you could attack it like you would a base. A race cannot attack their own homeworld though. If the attack is successful (disabling a homeworld), you would get either a massive credits, mineral, artifact, and/or research reward.

The other idea is a mission chain where the reward is you can create your own homeworld. It would act like the other mission planets, making it invicible to invasion. BUT, people can attack it and attempt a raid on your homeworld, seizing a sizeable amount of shipment from the homeworld and rendering it useless for a time until you can rebuild.
When claiming a homeworld, a special building is automatically built on it, not taking up any space. You can rename the planet to your liking and the resources are boosted to that of a mission dyson. Perhaps a special aura visible on the planet to signify it is a homeworld.

Thoughts on either of these?

It'as a good idea. It sort of mixes planets and bases. I definitely like any idea which boost production.

I wonder what the differences between the homeworlds would be? Obviously races with production bonuses would have homeworlds with those production features but what about the Kongul homeworld or whatever?+

Maybe a boost to whatever their ability is?
The resources would have to depend on what type of homeworld the race is from.
For example:
Earth doesn't have any ancient alien race artifacts (that we know of) so artifact production would be low. In the future we would be in the process of expanding and the minerals would be needed for building new ships. However we do live on a planet with abundant resources so mineral production wouldn't be the best, but not the worst. But researching technologies from the other races would be in full so research would be extremely high.
So...
Earth:
Mining - Ultra Rich
Artifact - average
Research - X29 Mega Rich

Does that help?

LOVE THIS IDEA! Maybe your own homeworld would be customizable too, like you rank up and use badges, exotic matter, political favor, etc to upgrade parts of it, and possibly have the option to change the type with gp.

O-o never thought of that. That would be an awesome addition to the idea.

I like the "personal homeworld" one. As a mission. I'll think up a chain/pretext if you want.

Types of homeworld:
Basic races:
Aerlen: Artifact, passive defence % bonus.
Human: Mining, passive mining production bonus.
Inergon: Research, Invasion defence bonus
Konqul: Mining, Passive attack % bonus.
Sillixx: Artifact, larger homeworld.
Vygoid: Research, Passive research production bonus.

Unlockable:
Dranikk: Research, Small reseach bonus AND population bonus.
Genetarr: Artifact, small artifact bonus AND defence bonus.
Lazuli: Mining, small mining bonus AND invasion defence bonus.
Zolazin: Research, small research bonus AND cloak bonus.
Kronyn: Research, BIG research bonus.
Mylarai: Mining, BIG mining bonus.
Taltherian: Artifact, BIG artifact bonus.

Once scanned, homeworlds disappear after 1 week. Once attacked, they disappear after 24 hours. They are immune to ALL artifacts. They will only produce resources if the population is full. If population drops below 10, it can be raided. When raided, the invader gets 6 hours of the planet's production, a crate (like the bases), and the planet is inactive for 24 hours.

I'd say +1 to the rank minimum.

Either that, or schematics are dropped by a NPC. They start a mission chain, where you decode the schematics, Assist with developing them, construct the planet, fend off an attack from a rival race, and then finally assist with the colonisation of the planet.

I think rank 100 is fair. It doesn't take that long to reach... around 3-4 months. Longer if you slow rank.

That idea also works Spyder.

+1 on the home world ideas.

What about a outpost for people of the same profession? Turn in CTP, EM, or dark badges for temp increases in abilities?

For each race, all planets become collosal, and have the following stats:

x20 research: Vygoid, Kronyn, Zolazian, Inergon
x20 artefact: Konqul, Taltherian, Sillix, Lazuli
x20 mining: Mylari, Human, Aerlan, Genatar

very good exept, it should be about 60+, that is when players start getting hang of things, and resources should be able to be used to upgrade the type of planet and/or swich homeworlds. and you could increase the production points with YOUR skill points too.
