If you want to change what your ship looks like, then you have to change races, crispy5. And that means having different bonuses as well. Changes may come in the future, in fact people have already posted their own mockups of what ships *could* look like, but the developers have said they want to concentrate on fixing stuff that is broken or improving existing features
before they start adding new ones.
