I bought my Exotic this morning...what would be the go there?

I would quit this game and i can assure you a hell of a lot of others would too... he only needs to rollback till before the first maint had finished

the database is huge. i dont blame dan if he didn't back the whole thing up. and honestly, i would be exceptionally disappointed if i lost the last 24 hours of gameplay, considering i FINALLY got enough money to do my first scan run in over 250 ranks.

Elites can be found again. I doubt it will take a full 24 hour rollback anyway.

or his last back up was performed which is probably done daily and not hourly or frequent in the day. For most of us we do hope it is a bit more regular than daily and we would all lose something gained for the last days work. BUT the gains people received in the glitch would forever change the balance in the game and it is something that cannot be left alone because you're too pissy about a few good npc's that can be found again. The integrity of the game > your personal needs. I would lose out on a lot of things for this day too but I would rather lose what i gained for a day than to know there are several players out there who got 6 mil RP and AP.

and what about all those lazuli parts vaults....

...and the dark smugglers cache...

and what about the 4 terraformers i got today?

From the drift I'm getting, Dan did planetary backup rather than resource backup. So either...

A. Backup planets (i.e. invasions or whatever) and keep insane production gathered.
B. Roll back 24 hours or so, wiping out both planet changes and production gathered.

Problem with A is those who were here and got to experience the bug gets to keep production, but those who worked during the 24 hours such as planet invasions or finding NPC drops, spent GP, or whatever will still have these actions "done" and saved.

Problem with B is with a 24 hour wipe, all the regular rare / extremely rare non-boss NPC drops, NPC boss battles (and drops), planet invasions, energy spent, etc. will be gone. People would be very upset on losing terraformers, QSE's, planet flux's, etc. from NPC's, or lose a juicy invasion success or whatever.

This is the 2nd muck up that i know of after a maintenance.

Everyone's gametime can't be reset for the last 24hrs as that would cause far too many issues, but it can't be left as it is. Kharr got millions of resources, but where's mine?

I did not actually but I know Rev did I was too busy with the gf when I came back I saw people in my group chat talking bout millions of RP that was glitched to them.

Actually the reason i would be quitting would not be because of my own personal needs, it would be because my view on dan would have had changed, if he doesn't back stuff up before taking maint then ive lost my respect and faith in him...

What if you lost a 15xmega rich planet you scanned and invaded....

or maybe Dan has dealt with something like this before and knows how to handle it without much impact to the rest of the day?

the way i see it, the players who benefited from this the most are the same ones who are already strongest in the game, so it wont really matter. i doubt the 15k research gained as stated in another thread will truely have an impact on the future of this game. and i'm sure the 6 billion research gained by the top players either went into the ct lab, research contracts, or base research. either way, who cares? ct lab stuff helps the whole legion. research contracts dont pay that well, and base research will just allow them to contribute to an already difficult to contribute base.

artifacts are another story, but again, it dosnt really matter. most players only drew maybe 100k artifact points. which for me, is about a days worth of ap. those who drew close to 6 million again, are too powerful already so it dosnt matter.

Depends on database structure. If its transaction based he can rollback all actions since it turned back on after maintenance. Otherwise, the db snapshot approach unfortunately. Just have to make sure all GP transactions are too, cause losing GP is unacceptable. I'm sure he can audit those by time of purchase via support.
