I'm slow ranker and im rank 250 i can disable rank 350s and a rank 400 who attacked me only did slightly more damage to me then i do to him I've been playing over a year. in short i know what im talking. not trying to brag but this is my advice to all of you who are beginning the slow ranking journey.

1. don't waste energy. (this tip is for all of you who have been playing a while and want to become a slow ranker but you have a lot of excess energy from before. i always see people when asking how to begin slow ranking say waste energy! well don't just don't put anything more into energy you'll balance out soon enough i promise especially if you follow all my tips.

2. hack a lot (gives no xp decent reward sometimes you get a good planet to capture.)

3. energy for when you need it. (a lot of people consider slow ranking as just not having uch energy at all. i have almost 2K energy before relays and a charge rate of 55 an hour which may seem like a lot for a slow ranker but sometimes you need to throw away being a slow ranker for periods of times like legion wars, killing elite NPCs ect. remember helping your legion is more important don't say "sorry guys im a slow ranker so i cant help in this war ill get to much XP" or sorry guys your all out of energy and that dark mega complex is about to expire i cant help you NPCs give to much XP and even if i did help i don't have any energy so i cant." remember have energy so when you need it throughout this guide i will give you ways to us that spare energy.)

4.donate a lot of energy to the base. (for the energy that you can't burn threw hacking and those occasional elites bases give very low xp)

5. check to see if your ipod or cell phone can access GL (being able to access GL threw these devices even if extremely slow is a slow rankers dream cause you leave it on the battle tab every 15 minutes just flip it on and hack)

6. ARTIFACTS( the single most important thing for a slow rankeris artifact production duratainion brakets, x charge cells, ship bots, rescued prisoners android helmsmen and android scientist. these 6 artifacts are the 6 most important things a slow ranker needs. the reason these artifacts are above research in importance is the best modules are worthless without space to put them.)

7.put rank points into decks (like i said above even if you have the best tech its worthless without space to put it)

8.RESEARCH (,as high as a production as possible the whole point of slow ranking is to get better tech than everyone else.)

9. put research into planetary structures (i even squander this much overlooked tip i currently have level 10s but i want level 12s remember the whole point of slow ranking is to get better artifacts and research for your ship each day)

10. research better scanners (scanning runs give very low Xp which is good for slow rankers but the whole point is of slow ranking is to get better production so you can get more artifacts and research points an hour plus above average production along with more time to collect to build up those ship bots and rescued prisoners)

11. kronyn talerithian or maylari. (using there enrich ability you get no XP and it costs 200 energy plus it increases your hourly production and a high hourly production is what slow ranking is all about i recommend either talerithian or kronyn over maylari but all 3 are good choices.

12. don't not to fast but not to slow. (check how long you've been playing in weeks then divide your rank by it. the result should be fitting within 1-2 rank ups total each week depending on your style of slow ranking. 2 times a week is the max. i suggest you rank up about 1.5 times a week that way you you can keep colonizeing planets. remember having high research is worthless if you can't afford the tech.)

these are my best pieces of advice from over a year experience in the matter feel free to ad your own advice. in the comments or you could always coment telling me how awesome this guide is anyway i hope it helps you!

Good Advice but i can disable you so easily on the BT.

I plan on doing this for a month when I hit rank 300 so my research can catch up
but instead of hacking, I'm going to do scanning as I have no cloak researched and cannot donate to base because it's levelling form 5-6 and sub quantum logistics take 500k research a phase, I can only pull out 100k a day if I can collect it before capping, which I can't

2 things 1. what rank are you?
2. my ship has been in high cloak and scan mode recently (forhacking) but i have all theatacrons installed atm

There is a lot of points that I agree with you and I would like you to attack me when you see me on your BT. Just for testing purposes.

looks like fairly decent advice for one of many ways to play the slow ranking style.

i've been playing over 1 1/2 yrs and i am rank 365, haven't been a slow ranker (except for 2 or 3 short moments) but will be doing it sometime in the future and will probably do some variation of this slow strategy.

i said i can disable rank 350s and when I'm in PVP mode i can also i attacked a rank 420 i did 170 damage he did 200 which like i said i can give 400s a fight i actually have quasis researched but can't afford them yet. i also have synoplated (i think that's how you spell it.) researched and installed currently going for defense which has always been my weakpoint

Something I would add to this... 'Droids. Android Helmsmen and Android Scientists. The helmsmen add to your Defense for 0 deckspace. 'Nuff said... And Scientists will help grow your research rate even though you cannot colonize planets as often as "fast" rankers. Added research is always a good thing (at least until you start capping while AFK) whether you can install the stuff or not. Having it researched gives you the flexibility of adding modules whenever you want, rather than having to wait till you research something to fill the decks you get from those 40 shipbots you have stockpiled.

Putting rank points into decks after level 300 is for idiots.

What is your ship size? Like i said it is just for testing purposes and i like the way you put it in simple terms for slow ranker's.

i have about 2k space also though the real reason for simple terms is I'm on my phone

not if your AP is fairly low. for me it will be about rank 400'ish
