I recently changed from human to konqul in an attempt to slow rank, but I think I'm still ranking up fast. Any suggestions on slow ranking? I'm rank 158 with 750 energy and all 4 Isomorphic Repeater installed.

Only use energy on things you need to, plus things like hacking which grant no xp. Keep the energy, but don't use it. Just keep it for if you need it on things like Reynard, Renegar, Lazuli Fabrication Plants etc. etc. Just let it go to waste.

Thanks, I will do that also. Talking about exp/energy ratio. Which one gives the lowest ratio PvP or NPCing?

PvP by a long shot.
No bonus XP on disable. Tougher opponents - less likely to "win", causing less XP.

The only addendum I would add is that if you do 'win' the combats, the xp ratios for pvp'ing change. I 'win' most of the time, unless I have my suboptimal pvp build on, and the average xp ratio I get is about 3x (i.e. I spend 5 energy and get an average of 15 back). If I really want to get that last little burst of xp to level before heading to bed, I invariably turn to pvp because it gets me more. If you're going to 'lose' the combat, then yes it gives crap xp.

XP ratio aside, why would you continue combat if you're losing the individual battles consistently? I can see retaliating against someone bigger that disabled you or going after someone off an alert, but otherwise that's just plain stupid....
FYI, there's more involved in slow ranking effectively than just low xp/energy ratios...

Lower xp returned and red badges. Those are the only reasons I can think of.

Jawwa wrote: Lower xp returned and red badges. Those are the only reasons I can think of. Not very good reasons.... Get the reds off easy kills and use missions for low xp ratio. At low ranks, artifact production can't sustain the number of repair nanos and shield restorers necessary and mining production won't keep up with repair cost.

Unless your ship is spelt with a "t" instead of a "p", low rank repair costs shouldn't be an issue. Pre-200 you should be able to keep up with repairs. Once you get Nulls/Fermionic/Trans-Temporal Arrays you can worry more.
