+1 love it. It'd be great for recruiting. You find a planet owned by an unaligned player and you can give them your recruitment pitch.

Planets owned by unaligned players are 98% inactive...

love the statistic Darth, and I like this idea, but there is a potential for abuse. Just think of it as a ship comm that someone has access to ALL the time, sure you can block them, but I bet they can still be annoying until then and that might ruin some of the fun in planet stealing, having someone #$&*@ to you for days after!

Several times, I have stolen a crappy planet just to recover special structures built on them. My plan was to invade the planets, use mylarai build extractors to recover the special structures, and leave them unprotected so the original owners could take them back. None of them have taken their planet back. If only I could comm them through their planet and let them know I don't want it ...

I'm not certain, but I think some high ranking players put appetizing artifacts on lightly defended crappy worlds as a LURE to get someone to take it for the artifacts, hoping the high ranker will take it back.

The high-ranker might see it as paying those artifacts for the planet, which would be acceptable to rid themselves of it.

if you can see what planet it came from then you can build better def on that planet (better for planet owner v.s person looking at the planet) now if this comms use is just for comms use and not invasion - then whats the problem?!

in the first place if the planet owner doesnt respond promptly then the person looking at the planet is almost sure the owner is not online atm and can take it positively without the owner jumping to control planets def against a takeover (in effect this is a cheet.. having prior knowledge of the owner not being online)

now if this comm that some of you are wanting is just for comms use and such and NOT for invasion purposes,, then the planet owner should be aware of what planet it came from and/or the player sending the comm shouldnt be able to take an action on that planet for a certain amount of time, let there be a timer, it can be 4 hrs or 8hrs or more...

how about comms through planets won't even arrive for 4-8 hrs and it won't show the receiver what planet it was bounced through, it'll just show up on the players ship comm like any ordinary msg.... and replies to a planet comm happen normally as a regular comm
