What's with all this alerting Legions over a single badge? Seems to happen every other day. Isn't polite PVP just an aspect of the game?

Yes it is- as is overreaction, injured pride and sheer stupidity- so referring to your post title- if you go hunting take lube

Some people get grumpy but to be honest, I think it's because they take the game too seriously. There's going to be combat and disabling. It's an inherent part of the game. I'm not going to be mad if you disable me just like I won't be mad if you do lots of missions or kill too many npc's. It's when they make it personal that it stops being cool. Badging isn't personal.

I'll say it again. I've come from a lot more brutal games where someone could camp you to their hearts delight. What we've got on GL isn't even close to bad. When I see someone complaining, I can't help but smile (while mentally wondering if they need a waaaaaaaaaaaambulance).

I can understand people who alert someone for one badge. I do not like it, but I can understand why.

If you come across a legion that will alert for even thinking about hitting them. Well, that's a great deterrence, defense. Granted, the plan could back-fire with a big target being placed on your back for acting that way.

So either come back with more support than he brought, or be more choosey in picking your targets.

An alert from a lower level legion is just going to create a target rich environment- a big gun takes you down- lots of other guys raid or hack- then you have a news feed full of targets
