I know nobody knows what really determines your chances (although they are believed to be made better by having a larger difference in cloak/scan than your target), but about how often do you get a critical hack?

Ex: 1/100, 1/50, etc.

I've only ever crit hacked once, and I have 294 total hacks.

You're still doing better than I am at that rate.

Let's just put it this way... your chances of critically hacking a player is equal to your chances of critically failing. That's why hacking is not that popular

I'm leaning a bit more towards the critical failure aspect of that.

Dan did say there are 2 rolls to a hack
1) You're cloak/scan vs there cloak/scan to see if you succeed or fail.
2) If it is a crit or standard.

but did dan say if the 2nd roll is static or affected by stats?

Does anyone know a possible average for crit hacks? Ex: 1/250?

I've been crit countered twice, but I haven't gotten a critical hack in about 800 or so hacks.

Anyone that is looking to improve hacking should see my thread in the suggestions forum.

This may be an anomaly, but I have 600 hacks with 7 critical success and no critical failures if memory serves.

It may be a function of the gap between scanning and cloak for hackee and hacker, or so my experience has suggested.
