I know I brought this up before when a friendly legion was taken over by someone who was there to "upgrade the base", but I think if you founded a legion, you shouldn't be able to be kicked, and you should have final say. Recently, a friend of mine lost his legion when a member was promoted to co-leader, and then demoted and kicked the old leader. He had a level 3 base he spent money on and had built almost himself. These issues could be avoided and legion dynamics changed for the better if a legion founder was a supreme leader, not being able to be demoted, only by themselves, or kicked and maybe having the power to lock things to only founder? Thoughts on this?

EDIT: I am leaning towards this idea:

I feel both options would benefit most legion in the current state of the game, and custom leader/officer roles is something I've wanted for my legion for some time!

rule #1... never promote a 2nd person to leader unless you trust them with your offline life...

Once again a huge +1!

it's more about having another tier or legion positions, where founder could be with the other leaders, or above it based on build, but I do see your point, I agree it was a bad move, but maybe we should change the legion dynamics

EXACTLY! Officers can do EVERYTHING a Leader can do! NOT! Officers don't have Powers that Leaders do. Plus, I have Officers that I trust with Officer stuff, but would never trust them as Leaders.

+1 TO the Founder Position.

What day-to-day (or even weekly) function can a leader do that officer can't?
The point is, you don't need to have loads of leaders. Officers, with their limited power, functions just fine most of the time. Hard to have things go wrong when the legion only have 1-3 leaders.

Now, I'm not particularrly against a founder position, or even more postition, customized if possible(for example, atm I seriously won't mind if "accept application" was aviliable to everyone, but I would put kicking players on a higher tier, and perhaps some stuff like assigning officers even higher tier etc)

However, that's just because it would be nice and would be a nice addition.

The reasons this thread is basing on: the fear of the orginal leader being kicked and/or the legion disbanded etc by a new "leader" does NOT hold water. IMO, while the player who performed such actions is a bad bad person, the fault mainly falls to the orginal leader who promoted such a "bad bad person" to leader.

So while I'm not agaisnt the suggestion itself much(although "founder" is a rather useless function IMO, I would perfer customizable positions, maybe 4 different sets that you can tinker with urself), I have a strong dislike of people who seek "fixes" on "problems" that was caused by their own (sorry, can't find a fitting non-insulting word, use your imagination) in the first place.

fair enough, so customizable positions would be a fair enough alternative

Though there are some leaders in my legion, very few partake in active day-to-day work. i find it more so that we the officers run the show. Granted we do from time to time consult leaders in legion changing actions, it seems thus far we have been doing pretty well for yourselves

So what if the founder has been gone a long time? Do the current leaders vote on a new founder or is one randomly selected?

the title falls to the most loyal 'active' leader.

I see this as just another way of idiot-proofing the game. Legions have Officers to help deal with the day to day stuff, so multiple Leaders aren't really necessary. If you are that paranoid that someone you promote to leader would usurp control of the legion, don't promote anyone. Simple, problem solved. The only power that Leaders have that Officers don't is promote/demote (and kicking Officers, but that should be a Leader decision anyway).

Any well-organized, well-run should not have any issues with coup d'etats because they would observe members for a time and get to know them before promoting them even to officer. Giving out insta-crowns is just a recipe for disaster and something you won't see good legions do.

If you don't like it you don't have to use it.

well the way have my two legions set up is two leaders one who stays all the time and one mobile leader that goes out and handles affairs face to face. Also with two leaders if one goes inactive w.o notice there is a second leader to make sure the Legion doesnt fall apart and also when one mobile leader is away a trusted officer is promoted to a temp leader spot to be trained as leader and get some leadership experiance. Also i dont have to worry about coups because the officers i have know have fought along side me for almost a year.
