From my understanding what i thought was a rift was , when you combined two planets togeather the resources would combined and would make a pretty planet pic. am i wrong? if it dosnt combined two planets togeather then what does it do ?

Yes, you are wrong. It gives any non-invulnerable planet +15 to all stats, makes it mega colossal and invulnerable.

now does the + 15 for the resources include + 15 for the size of the planet as well?

Example.
2x,4x, 17x. Tiny.
Rift's into a
17x, 19x, 32x, Mega Colossal.

Example #2.
15x, 20x, 15x Very Large
Rifts into a
30x, 35x, 30x, Mega Colossal.

2 Planetary Data Optimizers
20 Terraformers
5 Enumeration Crystal
1 Gamma Crystallizer

if that's what you're referring to it all depends on the planet you start with... usually smaller planets have higher production levels and thus cost less to upgrade...

Doesn't matter if you have a toxic or not if you don't have any Isolytic Irradiators left. If you don't and use a toxic, the best you can do is 31x/35x/30x making a desert or barren a better choice (as well as less items needed to make it, 31 "moves").

For those that don't know how to make the 33x/37x/32x
Code:
Start with a toxic
Mining: Very Abundant
Artifacts: Very Abundant
Research: None

6 research increasing artifact/abilities. (VA/VA/VA)
20 terraformers     (14x/14x/14x)
1 toxic purifier    (16x/14x/14x)
1 Research increase (16x/14x/15x)
6 Artie increase    (16x/20x/15x)
Isolytic Irradiator (18x/22x/17x)
Subspace Fissuron   (33x/37x/32x)
Total: 36 moves

you get 20 irradiators.. you only get 10 crystalizers... better chance you have an irradiator left

True in theory but for me. On the other side of that coin, toxics are so easy to max out that people tend to burn through their irraditors much quicker than the other planet increasers.

You may also need a few extra $$ for terraformers and race changes too

This time of the year, you should be able to farm all the pieces, especially with the "Gift of the".
