Hello all, hopefully a simple question for you to answer.
I have checked the wiki which outlines a formula for working out how many planets you may colonize, however it does not appear to mention if thier is a maximum ammount of colonies you may own.
Simply, is thier a maximum number of planets I may colonize, or is the only restriction the number worked out using the formula according to my rank?

If thats true I would be right in assuming getting to a high rank as soon as I can would be the best strategy as higher rank = more planets, ergo more resources.
Thank you for the swift reply.

NO NO NO NO NO getting to a high rank quickly is NOT WHAT YOU NEED. Your research will be so low compared to your rank you will just DIEEEE. level normally. BTW The number of planets you can own is this. rank/4+1=max planets. So at rank 100 it is 100/4+1 25+1 At rank 100 you can have 26 planets.(It is always rounded down if it is a decimal)

Ah, Thank you for the contrasting opinion. Could you perhaps let me know why dieing is such a bad idea, from what I have seen in this game so far when disabled all you have to do is spend a few crdits repairing, which seems a small sacrifice, is there something important i'm missing with this part of the game?

But some people tends to over abuse on weaker ... Check top kills table to get a few names so if you lvl alot, you will end up bulllied, and the worse is that you are going to join the legion of your attackers so that it ends ... Sad isn't it?

Hmm, being bullied is never fun, but as the game has been running for some months before I found it there will always be bigger players with the potential to bully me, no matter how quickly I level up or otherwise if someone wants too. In my case such bullying would sooner lead me to leave the game then join the aggressors legion, that would truley be sad as I am enjoying the pace of the game through the lower ranks.

It's abit of a balancing act. If you level fast, you become visible to higher ranked players in the battle tab before you have the resources and/or the technology to defend yourself.
If you level slow, then you really need to cherry-pick the best planets you have available to maximize your return. As you get higher tech, stuff starts to coss a metric ass-ton mof credits to build. You *need* to have a decent mineral income to pay for this, as mission credits don't see a decent spike upwards in payout until lvl 40.

I see, I guess I need to ramp up mineral production as I currently have no mineral or artifact production lines.
Ty everyone for your responses.

I'm a Vygoid Miner, my lack of resources currently boils down to a lack of planets worth colonizing. The only 3 I have are all giant balls of gas capable of research and nothing else, but the rest I have scanned are either tiny - v small or already occupied. I can colonize 1 more but im planning on waiting for something either quite large or rich in resources.
