I give a +1 for customizable leadership roles and a +1 to a penultimate founder/leader type role, along with the ability to specify a successor in the event said founder leaves the game.

Although I don't think the situation happens very often, one solution could be to prevent the current 'oldest' Leader from being kicked or demoted. The 'Founder' term may be confusing since a leader can promote someone else and then leave.

Dunno Dan I think the player that founded/created the legion should have founder position. Instant loyality if they leave and return, and founder/leader position whenever in that legion (unkickable, and has to review and approve disbanding provided they are currently active).

Many legions now have sub-legions because of the cap and asking that person never to leave in not an option. Never promoting anyone to leader is really not viable ether as there is no one then to then bump them back to leader (unless of course my above idea is implemented).

This is a change I and many others feel is way overdue.

I would be satisfied with this as a compromise, and i do agree, it happens rarely, at least with leaderboard legions, but smaller legions might have this issue often and not report it

The only problem with the whole instant loyalty idea is that it could potentially be abused by someone who creates multiple legions and hops from one to another to claim production distributions from each legion they founded. --- But this could be solvable by giving loyalty after 24 hours (like the eligibility period) instead of the normal 7 days.

Dan,
How about a "Master" title for the person who is the penultimate leader of a legion? You could then also specify a "Commander" title for the second highest leader, who would serve as the successor to the Master, if the Master steps down by leaving or becoming in active for a long time (say 45 or 90 days -- in the event they go on an extended vacation or become seriously ill). The current leader position could be kept and renamed to the title of "Captain", and Officer would not need a new title.
