I think Combat Reputation should be changed to just "Reputation". Combat is not the only aspect to this game and your reputation should reflect your personal gaming style.

There should be different categories of reputation these categories would change as you develop a gamestyle.
Note: Your "reputation" will ONLY reflect 1 of the following categories.These categories are designed to reflect what you excel at the most.

examples:(and these are just examples off the top of my head feel free to suggest better)
sorry I have not thought out the actual amount of kills,hacks,ect needed to hit the different ranks but honestly I suck at numbers and im not even going to try it lol.

balanced rep -everyone would start the game as "balanced".This simply means that you have not gained enough stats in any category to earn a reputation.Some people may stay balanced if they do not excel in 1 category over the others.

Reputation for people who excel in PvP COMBAT. We already have a system for this, we can use the same system and levels of combat reps here:
harmful - dangerous - menacing and insane.
Notice I left out passive, feeble, weak and laughable, this is because there is no need for them.If you are not excelling at combat, then you are likely to be excelling in another category and your reputation would reflect that.Again if you do not excel at 1 category over the others you will just stay balanced.

Reputation for people who focus on DESTROYING NPCs. when fighting NPC you fight against races that are enemy to the entire galaxy and therefore should have heroic names: NPC kill count determines your NPC rep.
rebel - vigilante - hero - Paladin

Reputation for people who excel in HACKING: Your hack count will determine what hacking rep you have.
Cryptographist - Mole - spymaster - stalker

Reputation for people who focus on MISSIONS. When you do missions, these missions are likely for racial governments or the federation or something like that so I thought we could have professional military names for these. Mission count would determine your missions rep.
petty officer - Lieutenant - commander - Admiral

should still be a new combat rep or to, for 100+ deaths than kills, and for 1000+ more kills than deaths. any ideas for names?

If it is so worthless than we should just scrap the combat rep all together, would save a lot of discussion..you can tell someones combat rep by just looking at their stats.
At least this idea makes it more interesting and gives people who do not PvP a chance to earn a reputation for themselves.
some guy has few PvP kills and lots of deaths but has killed 1000 NPC or made 1000 successful hacks.this guy does not deserve a laughable reputation as he has excelled in other areas.this idea helps to reflect what that person HAS done, not what he/she has not.
the main goal of the idea is to get rid of the negative reputations (weak, laughable, ect)
and replace them with more positive reputations that reflect more of how you personally play the game.
Balanced reputation would be the most negative label you would get and balanced does not necessarily mean you are a bad player, it just means you have spread your energy across multiple aspects of the game instead of just one.

well, maybe you....but not everyone. although combat rep doesnt really tell you anything about the player really, just whether they pvp or not.

Seriously though, prestige isn't going to do you any good whatsoever when you fall across my BT when I'm hunting. A majority of players are going to say the same thing. Look at it this way... If you bypass someone on your BT because they have an Insane combat rep, it means one thing. You're scared and shouldn't be doing PvP in the first place. If you have an Insane rep and expect others to bypass you because of that, it means one of two things. You're a farmer that is afraid of having your own strategy used on you, or you're dumb.

Lol at what point did i say it was a good idea or that personally i liked it? Prestige is a form of power, it has the power to strike fear into the hearts of the weak!!!!!

Whoever wants power the most is willing to do anything to get it. That is the person you should fear. They will trample you to get to their goal. 'Prestige' is meaningless to them.

I said its a weapon against the weak, what your describing is someone who is not weak!

Someone who is Savage or Insane may be less likely to have a Halc trap. Useful in that way.
