Is there a way of increasing my Research Rank Capacity other then just going up in Levels(Experience Rank)? I'm losing out on research points because my Rank Capacity just isn't high enough.

Scientists don't increase your capacity, they increase the production. There's a mission structure that has research storage as well, but I can't recall the name.

No, scientists do NOT increase capacity, only production. The GP storage units, Polychoron Vault (CTLab) and Taltherian Archives add capacity. Might be a couple others but can't recall any atm.

So where do I find those things? in that case, you ether buy Storage structures from "Shop the Artifact Market" can be found under your energy bar as "Redeem Points" or just live with it cuz CTlab and thaltherian missions are way far from where are you now... and buying structures would be gift to anyone higher rant than you... (sadly) but again, if you spend cash on game you can burn Terraforming mission and get Invisible planet which you can stuck with storage... atleast for a time you cant protect it decently

You can also buy them with complex tech parts from another player who already has one. I think they're going for 550 CTP each now...

I could buy a Structure using GPs, but at my level it wouldn't be a smart move because I'm not strong enough to defend the planet?

yeah, pretty much. unless you can stick around 10k defense on the planet before your legion bonus. and even then, if a 1000+ scans it, its gone.

Essentially, yes. As was mentioned previously however, the standard storage structures can be traded in-game for minerals, ctp, etc. It's still risky because you can't effectively defend planets with them while at low ranks, but at least you wouldn't lose any REAL money
